Hero Motocop investing Rs. 420 crore in Ather Energy

At a time when India’s leading two-wheeler manufacturer is preparing its product for the local EV market, Hero MotoCorp Ltd. is investing Rs 420 crore in electric scooter company Ather Energy.

Hero MotoCorp owned 34.8 percent of the Bengaluru-based startup before the proposed investment.

Hero MotoCorp became the first company to use Ather Energy’s fast-charging technology in October 2021 for its electric scooter, which will be released in March.

The Delhi-based firm said it is looking into collaborating with Ather Energy on a variety of fronts, including charging infrastructure, technology, and sourcing.

Ather Energy Collaborating with Bharat FIH Foxconn

Ather Energy, an electric two-wheeler manufacturer, said that it has partnered with Bharat FIH, a Foxconn subsidiary, to acquire numerous components for its vehicles.

Bharat FIH will manage the complete supply chain and logistics for these components, and it has already begun manufacturing them.
