Hero Electric Optima CX and NYX

 

Hero Electric has finally introduced its all-new, smart, and connected Hero Electric Optima CX and NYX models to the Indian market. Having said that, the company has unveiled three new products: the Optima CX5.0 (dual-battery), the Optima CX2.0 (single battery), and the NYX CX5.0 (Dual-Battery). The Hero Electric Comfort and City Speed scooters will be priced between Rs 85000 and Rs 95000 and Rs 1,05,000 and Rs 1,30,000, respectively.

All three electric scooters feature cutting-edge Japanese motor technology for a smooth ride and German ECU technology to withstand India’s varied weather conditions.

A 3 kWh C5 Li-ion battery powers the Optima CX5.0. It also has a top speed of 55 km/h on city streets and a ground clearance of 165 mm. It can take up to 3 hours to fully charge the scooter.

The Optima CX2.0, on the other hand, has a top speed of 48 kilometres per hour and a ground clearance of 165 millimetres. The vehicle can be charged completely in as little as 4.5 hours.

When it comes to the NYX CX5.0, it has a ground clearance of 175 mm and a top speed of 48 km/hr. The vehicle is powered by a 3 kWh C5 Li-ion battery. It can also be fully charged in three hours.

All three electric scooters have enhanced safety features such as a battery safety alarm, drive mode lock, reverse roll protection, and a side stand sensor.

In terms of colour, the Optima CX5.0 is available in Dark Matt Blue and Matt Maroon, while the Optima CX2.0 is available in Dark Matt Blue and Charcoal Black. While the NYX CX5.0 comes in Charcoal Black and Pearl White colour schemes.

Speaking of the introduction of electric scooters. Sohinder Gill, CEO of Hero Electric, stated that the company’s diverse portfolio has provided a powerful value proposition catering to the varied mobility requirements of the discerning Indian consumer. He also claimed that the new EV lineup was created with input from over six lakh customers. Gill went on to say that the new EVs have powertrains that have been developed to convert nearly every drop of battery power into useful energy for the scooters.

The secret lies in a super-intelligent close-loop sync system that senses in real-time. every little variation in the load and road condition to deliver just the right amount of energy without any wastage. Going by the popularity of the looks of our bikes. we have largely retained the outer designs and worked upon the bones and muscles to offer the new Avatars of our five lovable platforms that comprehensively cater to the entire spectrum of ‘Real value for money’ customers.” he added.

According to Naveen Munjal, MD of Hero Electric, each of the newly launched products has undergone extensive R&D with a primary focus on ensuring customer safety. “In tandem with this, we have also worked closely with our partners to cater to the surging demand for EVs in the country. As a result, we are proud to announce that we are all set to roll out over 1 million vehicles annually from our manufacturing units.” he added.
