Hero Electric partners with Sun Mobility to deploy 10,000 e-2Ws in 2022-23

Hero Electric and SUN Mobility will jointly begin deployments in the next three months, with a goal of roughly 10,000 electric 2Ws by the end of the year.

Hero Electric has teamed up with SUN Mobility to supply energy infrastructure and services for electric vehicles (EVs), as well as to deploy electric 2Ws using the latter’s smart-swappable battery technology.
According to a press statement, Hero Electric and SUN Mobility will jointly begin deployments in the next three months, with a goal of roughly 10,000 electric 2Ws by the end of the year.
This is per the Finance Minister’s promise in the Union Budget for 2022-23 to create a battery swapping policy and recognize battery as a service to boost EV adoption in India.

Hero Electric’s customers will be able to buy electric 2Ws without having to worry about battery and charging infrastructure thanks to SUN Mobility’s battery technology and the capabilities of battery swapping infrastructure, according to the firm.
Smart mobility solutions, according to the business, include modular Smart Batteries that are linked, safer, more resilient, and efficient. Because the batteries can be switched in a matter of minutes, it also tackles the issue of long charging periods and range anxiety. Quick Interchange Stations (SWAP POINTS) provide a refueling infrastructure for ICE cars that is quicker, cheaper, and more convenient than traditional petrol and diesel pumps.
This system also uses a Pay-Per-Use approach, making it simple for consumers, e-commerce enterprises, and fleet operators to embrace electric mobility.

Hero Electric is currently growing its R&D facilities to produce the next generation of low-speed, city-speed, and high-speed cars for discerning customers.
It is also aiming to build a strong EV infrastructure in India by investing heavily in cutting-edge technology innovations. The electric two-wheeler firm claims to have sold over 450,000 units and 750 touchpoints in India, helping to accelerate the country’s electric transportation transformation.

It continues to work with a variety of Tier 1 startups for infrastructure development and banks, NBFCs, and financial institutions to increase customer access to and affordability of electric two-wheelers.
Hero Electric and Sun Mobility will develop an ecosystem in which customers will have access to the most up-to-date battery technology throughout the product’s lifespan without having to pay for them repeatedly. They’d also work together on new financing alternatives to make it easier for customers to switch to electric vehicles.
