To promote intercity electric vehicle travel, MG Motor India, a British automaker with a 99-year history, has partnered with IONAGE, a well-known eMobility Service Provider, to expand India’s destination charging infrastructure (EVs).

With the opening of 10 destination charging stations around Lucknow, Trivandrum, and Cochin, the cooperation was formally announced. This was the beginning of a transformative partnership towards sustainable transportation.

Under this partnership, MG Motor will make use of IONAGE’s cutting-edge e-mobility platform to give EV owners simple access to MG Charge points. Owners of electric vehicles will appreciate how easy it is to use the IONAGE App, which makes it simple to find charging stations, plan EV trips effectively, and charge their cars quickly at these MG Charge locations.

“We are delighted to partner with IONAGE in our pursuit to create a robust EV infrastructure in India. This collaboration represents our endeavours to empower EV owners and operators with a seamless charging experience. The collaboration also reaffirms MG Motor India’s commitment to supporting promising startups like IONAGE working within the EV charging ecosystem,” Gaurav Gupta, Deputy Managing Director, MG Motor India, said.

By empowering destinations like hotels, residential communities, public spaces, and corporations to adopt green transportation, original equipment manufacturer (OEM) MG Charge is a first-of-its-kind industry effort.

Vimal Kumar, CEO, IONAGE, said, “We are excited to partner with a tech-driven, futuristic brand like MG and expand our footprints to destination properties. The IONAGE platform will also serve as a smart mobility assistant for Electric Car Operators and Owners, offering a seamless, intelligent, and emission-free driving and transactional experience. As the transition to electric mobility accelerates, both companies are committed to leading the way and enabling a greener and more sustainable future.”

The strategic alliance will help MG Motor India’s goal to roll out its MG Charge program, which involves installing 1000 EV chargers nationwide in 1000 days. MG Motor India and IONAGE intend to collaborate to hasten the adoption of electric vehicles in the nation.
