Okinawa Okhi 90: A High-Speed Electric Scooter with Smart Features and Long Range
Okinawa Autotech, one of the leading electric two-wheeler manufacturers in India, has launched its flagship product, the Okinawa Okhi-90. This is a high-speed electric scooter that boasts a range of 160 km on a single charge and a top speed of 90 kmph. The Okinawa Okhi-90 is priced at Rs 1.21 lakh (ex-showroom) after the FAME II subsidy, and it is eligible for further state-level subsidies in some regions.
The Okinawa Okhi-90 is a maxi-scooter that has a sleek and stylish design with chrome accents and LED lights. It has a large and comfortable seat, ample storage space, and a USB charging port. The scooter also comes with a host of smart features such as a TFT instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity, an in-built navigation system, geo-fencing, call and notification alerts, insurance and maintenance reminders, speed alerts, and battery-related information. The scooter also has a keyless remote, parking mode, and roadside assistance (optional).
The Okinawa Okhi-90 is powered by a 72-volt, 50-AH lithium-ion battery that can be detached and charged separately. The battery supports fast charging and can be fully charged in 5-6 hours. The battery drives a 3.8 kW belt-driven motor that delivers a peak power of 3800 W. The scooter has two riding modes: Eco and Sport. In Eco mode, the scooter can reach a top speed of 55-60 kmph, while in Sport mode, it can go up to 85-90 kmph. The scooter also has an E-ABS (Electronic-Assisted Braking System) with regenerative energy.
The Okinawa Okhi-90 has a sturdy and durable chassis with hydraulic telescopic suspension at the front and a double shocker with dual tube technology at the rear. The scooter also has large 16-inch alloy wheels with tubeless tyres that can handle rough roads and varying terrain. The scooter has disc brakes at both ends with a combined braking system for effective stopping power. The scooter has a seat height of 803 mm and a ground clearance of 175 mm.
The Okinawa Okhi-90 is available in four color options: red, blue, white, and black. The scooter competes with other electric scooters in the market such as the Ather 450X, TVS iQube, and Bajaj Chetak. The Okinawa Okhi-90 offers an impressive combination of performance, range, features, and design at an affordable price point.
