Ola Electric unveils its car design with a Tesla-inspired style

Ola Electric Car

In August of last year, Indian EV manufacturer Ola Electric drew attention when it announced plans to introduce an electric car. Since then, there hasn’t been much information on the much-anticipated car.

The Look and Design Have Been Leaked

Now that a patent photograph revealing its entire design has been accidentally leaked, we can see Ola has re-captured our attention. Even though it appears to be in concept form, the image shares visual cues with previous teasers of the vehicle. The final prototype may differ slightly due to the headlamps and massive wheels.

Tesla-inspired fashion

In the leaked image, we can see a preview of the company’s design style. Ola’s electric four-wheeler style presents and initially embraces a sleek and minimalist design. It also has a hint of the classic Model S and Model 3 Tesla vehicles.

Features

The Ola electric car has a typical sedan shape up front and a coupe roofline at the back. The Ola EV has a sleek bumper with aerodynamic ridges, a small air inlet to cool the batteries, and headlamps attached to a long LED light bar. Inconspicuous body lines on the car’s flanks ensure that air flows freely through them.

The car is most likely equipped with cameras in the profile view instead of standard wing mirrors. It also has dual-tone aerodynamic wheels and a window line that appears pinched at both ends. Earlier teasers even hinted at a full glass. With previous teasers implying an entire glass roof, the patent image also suggests a dual-tone look for the roof. However, the back design has yet to be revealed.

It’s worth noting that Ola has already teased several aspects on social media, with the most recent teaser even featuring a high-riding crossover. As a result, it’s too early to say whether there will be single or multiple-body designs.

The upcoming car is expected to have an octagonal, two-spoke steering wheel with haptic controls, a central infotainment screen, a free-standing digital instrument cluster, keyless and handleless doors, assisted driving capabilities, and internal MoveOS software, according to a previous batch of teaser images.

Range and battery

The new Ola electric vehicle is expected to have a 70-80kWh battery pack and a range of 500 miles on a single charge. However, no official confirmation has been provided by the EV manufacturer. Ola also claims that the electric vehicle can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 4 seconds.

Conclusion

The new vehicle is expected to hit the market in 2024. In terms of pricing, Ola does not target the low-cost market. Instead, it intends to launch its first electric vehicle as a luxury vehicle with a starting price of more than Rs 20 lakh.
