 Tata Motors has announced the Nexon EV Max Dark edition, a special version of its electric vehicle portfolio that features blacked-out parts both inside and outside the vehicle. The electric SUV will be painted glossy black, with a ‘#Dark’ emblem on the front fender and 16-inch charcoal grey wheels. 

The cabin will have an all-black interior with contrasting blue inlays on the upholstery, as well as a new 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system. 

Interior

The Nexon EV Max Dark will have the same interior features as the standard versions, such as wireless connectivity for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, an integrated voice assistant, an upgraded reverse camera, a special EV display theme, and voice commands that recognize six languages. 

It also has a sunroof, an air purifier with an AQI display, cruise control, a wireless smartphone charger, a cooled glove box, rear air conditioning vents, and other features. 

Power and Battery

It sports a 40.5kWh battery powering an electric motor with 143hp and 250Nm of torque and an ARAI-claimed range of 453km. The Nexon EV Max Dark also comes with two chargers, one 3.3kW and one 7.2kW, and can accommodate up to 50kW DC rapid charging. 

Exterior

The exterior is Midnight Black with Satin Grey highlights, and the wheels are Charcoal Grey in color. 

Price 

The Nexon EV Max Dark costs Rs 19.04 lakh (ex-showroom) for the XZ+ Lux and Rs 19.54 lakh for the XZ+ Lux with the 7.2kW charger. 

Safety

Two airbags, disc brakes on all four wheels, ABS, and other safety equipment are standard. The vehicle has a 5-star safety rating system. 

Launch 

Tata plans to release the new Nexon edition in August as a preview of the new infotainment system for future Nexon models.

Warranty 

Tata’s Nexon EV Max Dark edition comes with an 8-year or 100,000-kilometer battery warranty, making it a direct competitor to the recently announced Mahindra XUV400.
