BYD’s luxury electric vehicle brand, Denza, is set to make its India debut on November 13, 2026, marking a significant development in the country’s premium electric mobility market. The brand is expected to introduce two high-end electric vehicles, the Denza Z9 GT and the Denza D9 luxury MPV, targeting buyers seeking advanced technology, high performance and premium comfort.
Denza will operate as a luxury brand positioned above BYD’s existing vehicle lineup. Its entry is expected to strengthen the competition in India’s premium electric vehicle segment, where demand for luxury EVs and technology-driven mobility solutions is gradually expanding.
Denza to Enter India’s Premium EV Market
Denza aims to establish its presence in India’s luxury EV segment, with its upcoming vehicles expected to occupy the premium price bracket of approximately ₹80 lakh to ₹1.5 crore. The brand is reportedly planning to introduce its initial vehicles as completely built units (CBUs), allowing it to enter the market without immediately establishing local manufacturing operations.
Depending on customer demand and market performance, local assembly could be considered at a later stage. Denza is also expected to develop an exclusive dealership network, separate from BYD’s existing showrooms, to deliver a dedicated luxury-car buying experience.
The November 13 event is expected to provide further clarity on the brand’s product lineup, pricing, retail strategy and expansion plans for India.
Denza D9 Electric MPV to Focus on Luxury and Comfort
The Denza D9 is expected to be one of the brand’s first offerings in India. This premium electric MPV is designed for customers who prioritise spacious interiors, passenger comfort and advanced features.
The global electric version comes with a 103 kWh battery pack and a front-mounted electric motor producing approximately 313 hp. It offers a claimed driving range of around 520 km under the Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicles Test Procedure (WLTP).
The D9’s key highlights include a spacious three-row cabin, electrically adjustable second-row captain seats, heating, ventilation and massage functions. Other premium features include leather upholstery, ambient lighting, multiple displays and three-zone climate control.
In India, the electric MPV is expected to compete with premium people-movers such as the MG M9 and Toyota Vellfire. Its expected pricing could place it among the more expensive electric MPVs available in the country.
Denza Z9 GT to Bring High-Performance Electric Mobility
The Denza Z9 GT is expected to be the brand’s performance-focused offering for India. Featuring a distinctive shooting-brake design, the all-electric model combines sporty styling with luxury-oriented technology.
Globally, the Z9 GT is offered with a triple-motor electric powertrain and a 122.5 kWh battery pack in its high-performance configuration. The system produces up to approximately 1,156 PS, enabling acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in a claimed 2.7 seconds. Its claimed WLTP driving range is around 600 km.
The model also features advanced technologies, including rear-wheel steering, a crab-walk function and a 360-degree turning capability. Inside, it offers multiple digital displays, premium upholstery, advanced driver assistance features and a high-end audio system.
The Z9 GT is expected to be priced between ₹1.2 crore and ₹1.5 crore, positioning it in India’s ultra-premium electric performance car segment.
What Denza’s India Entry Means for EV Buyers
Denza’s arrival could broaden the choices available to Indian luxury EV customers by introducing vehicles that combine premium interiors, advanced electric powertrains and distinctive designs.
With the D9 targeting luxury MPV buyers and the Z9 GT appealing to performance-focused customers, the brand could establish a presence across two different premium vehicle categories.
Further details regarding India-specific specifications, final prices, bookings and dealership locations are expected to emerge around the brand’s debut on November 13, 2026.
