River Mobility has partnered with Flipkart to expand the online availability of its Indie electric scooter, combining digital bookings with its existing dealership and service network. The collaboration will begin with Flipkart’s Big Billion Days sale.

Bengaluru-based electric two-wheeler manufacturer River Mobility has joined hands with e-commerce platform Flipkart to make its Indie electric scooter accessible to more customers through an omnichannel retail model. The partnership marks a step forward in the company’s efforts to strengthen its presence in India’s growing electric vehicle (EV) market.

Through this collaboration, customers will be able to explore the River Indie, access product information and book the electric scooter through River Mobility’s brand store on Flipkart. The initiative will commence with Flipkart’s Big Billion Days sale, bringing the electric two-wheeler closer to consumers who prefer researching and purchasing products online.

The partnership combines Flipkart’s digital reach with River Mobility’s physical retail and after-sales service infrastructure. This approach is expected to make the scooter easier to discover and book while retaining access to the company’s existing customer support network.

According to the company, the River Indie is currently available across 48 cities through 72 stores. Its availability on Flipkart will expand into additional markets as River Mobility grows its physical retail footprint.

Aravind Mani, Co-founder and CEO of River Mobility, said the partnership would bring the Indie closer to online customers and help the company expand its reach while relying on its established service network.

The move reflects a broader shift in India’s automotive retail landscape, where manufacturers are increasingly using e-commerce platforms to improve product discovery and simplify the initial stages of vehicle purchases.

The River Indie is designed around practicality, storage capacity and everyday usability. Its specifications position it as an option for consumers looking for an electric scooter for daily commuting and carrying personal belongings.

Key specifications and features include:

  • Battery capacity: 4 kWh
  • Claimed riding range: 163 km under the Indian Driving Cycle (IDC)
  • Top speed: 90 km/h
  • Combined storage capacity: 55 litres
  • Ground clearance: 177 mm
  • Instrument display: 6-inch screen

The electric scooter also features hill-hold control and a redesigned, lighter chassis. Its storage capacity is a notable highlight for riders who prioritise practicality for everyday travel.

River Mobility has also enhanced the scooter’s digital features through improved smartphone application integration. Connected functions include real-time charging status and ride statistics, helping owners monitor relevant information about their vehicle.

The claimed IDC range represents a certified test-cycle figure and may differ from the actual distance covered depending on riding conditions, speed, load and other factors.

River Mobility’s partnership with Flipkart highlights the growing role of digital platforms in India’s electric two-wheeler sector. Online marketplaces can help manufacturers introduce their products to a wider audience, while physical dealerships continue to support vehicle handovers, servicing and customer assistance.

By integrating online discovery and booking with its existing retail network, River Mobility aims to improve access to the Indie as it expands into more markets.

The collaboration also reflects how EV manufacturers are exploring new sales channels to reach potential buyers beyond conventional showroom visits. As India’s electric mobility market develops, such omnichannel strategies could become increasingly important for improving customer convenience and supporting wider EV adoption.
