Ola Electric to Drive EV Growth in Tier-2 and Tier-3 Cities via its Network Partner Program
Ola Electric, the burgeoning e-scooter manufacturer, is gearing up to make a significant impact on India’s electric vehicle landscape. The company recently announced the launch of its ‘Network Partner Program,’ a strategic initiative designed to accelerate EV adoption in tier-2 and tier-3 cities.
This program marks a pivotal step in Ola Electric’s expansion plans. By partnering with local businesses across India, the company aims to establish a strong sales and service network, ensuring wider accessibility to its electric scooters. The initial phase of the program has already seen the onboarding of 625 partners, significantly expanding Ola Electric’s reach.
Looking ahead, the company has ambitious targets. Before the festive season, Ola Electric plans to increase its partner base to 1,000. And by the end of 2025, the company aims to have a massive network of 10,000 partners spread across sales and service operations.
This strategic expansion is expected to fuel the growth of the electric vehicle market in smaller cities. With a wider network of partners, Ola Electric can provide better customer support, enhance brand visibility, and ultimately make electric scooters more accessible and affordable for consumers in these regions.
Ola Electric’s EV Revolution: A Growing Network of Sales and Service Points
“The ‘Network Partner Program’ will give Ola Electric an edge over its competitors as the Program requires limited investment from the partners and can be scaled up faster as compared to the traditional dealership model in the automotive industry,”
Press release
Currently, Ola Electric operates nearly 800 company-owned stores. With the addition of the Network Partner Program, the company expects to have a total of around 1,800 sales and service touchpoints by the upcoming festive season. This substantial increase in touchpoints will make it easier for customers to purchase and maintain Ola Electric’s electric scooters.
The expansion plans have garnered positive market response. At the time of the announcement, Ola Electric’s shares on BSE were trading up by 0.6 percent.
Bhavish Aggarwal, Chairman and MD of Ola Electric, expressed his enthusiasm for the program. He emphasized that the company’s direct-to-consumer (D2C) model has been instrumental in driving sustainable growth. The Network Partner Program, with its minimal capital investment requirements for partners, offers a scalable and efficient way to expand the EV footprint in both urban and rural areas.
While company-owned stores will form the backbone of the sales and service network, the Network Partner Program will play a crucial role in reaching deeper into the market. By the end of next year, Ola Electric aims to have a massive network of 10,000 partners across the country.
