SUN Mobility Aims to Launch 16K EVs in India by 2024
SUN Mobility, a provider of battery-swapping solutions, announced on Thursday that it has teamed up with Bluwheelz, an operator of electric vehicle fleets, to deploy over 16,000 EVs over the next year. According to the cooperation, around 15,000 electric two-wheelers and 1,000 electric three-wheelers are expected to be deployed in major cities over the following 12 months, according to a statement from SUN Mobility.
In addition, approximately 1,000 existing BluWheelz 4-wheeler loader fleets will be converted to electric over the following 12 months, the company said.
“We are now doing more than 1 million swaps every month and with partners like Bluwheelz, we will empower more people to choose sustainable transportation options, making our cities cleaner and more liveable,” SUN Mobility CEO Anant Badjatya said.
Bluwheelz Chairman Sanjiv Gupta said, “Our collaboration with Sun Mobility perfectly resonates with our mission to pave the way for a more sustainable and eco-friendly future in the realm of mid-mile and last-mile logistics across the country.”
Over 500 vehicles have already been deployed in Delhi, according to SUN Mobility, and operations will soon begin in Bangalore and Hyderabad.
Bluwheelz clients will enjoy a seamless and practical battery switching experience from the company’s extensive network of about 600 swap stations located throughout the nation, it noted.
