MG Motor India Collaborates with Zeon Electric to Enhance EV Charging Infrastructure
To improve the nation’s EV charging infrastructure, MG Motor India and Zeon Electric Private Limited have inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). MG has now partnered with its sixth charging point operator (CPO), which is a significant step toward creating a more accessible and effective EV ecosystem in India. This will help meet the nation’s growing demand for high-quality EV charging infrastructure to accommodate its expanding fleet of electric vehicles.
The goal of this agreement is to improve the EV ecosystem in strategic areas, including cities, roads, and MG dealerships in states like Karnataka, Kerala, AP, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, and Maharashtra, among others.
Zeon’s 300+ AC and DC chargers in strategic locations will be added to MG’s current network of 12,000 chargers. Partner charging stations, with seamless integration in the MyMG App, will be discoverable and show on the iSmart infotainment screens. MG customers will receive exclusive offers for charging at the Zeon kiosks.
“This strategic alliance with Zeon Electric underscores our dedication to sustainable mobility and our commitment to delivering a seamless electric vehicle ownership experience for our customers.”
Gaurav Gupta, Deputy Managing Director, MG Motor India, said.
“This partnership is a testament to our shared vision for a greener and more sustainable future in the electric vehicle space. Together, we are committed to establishing a modern charging infrastructure that prioritizes convenience and reliability for electric vehicle owners.”
Kartikeyan Palanisamy, Founder of Zeon, said.
By addressing infrastructure challenges, fostering partnerships, and embracing technological advancements, this strategic collaboration is an all-encompassing approach to advancing electric mobility in the Indian market. The initiative’s goal is to create an environment that is favourable to the widespread adoption of electric vehicles, elevating the overall experience of driving an electric vehicle in the nation.
