Shakti Pumps (India) Limited has strengthened its electric mobility business with an additional investment of ₹5 crore in its wholly owned subsidiary, Shakti EV Mobility Private Limited. The latest capital infusion takes the company’s cumulative investment in the electric vehicle subsidiary to ₹80 crore, reflecting its continued focus on expanding its presence in India’s growing EV components market.

The investment is aimed at supporting the subsidiary’s business operations and helping it develop its capabilities in electric vehicle component manufacturing. Shakti EV Mobility operates in a segment that is becoming increasingly important as India accelerates the adoption of electric two-wheelers, three-wheelers, passenger vehicles and commercial mobility solutions.

The latest investment was made through a cash subscription to equity shares of Shakti EV Mobility Private Limited. Following the transaction, Shakti Pumps’ total investment in the subsidiary reached ₹80 crore.

The capital infusion is intended to support the development and expansion of the subsidiary’s operations. The transaction was carried out within its wholly owned subsidiary structure and did not require government or regulatory approvals.

The move highlights Shakti Pumps’ continued efforts to build its electric mobility business alongside its established operations in pumps, motors and related equipment. By investing additional capital in its EV subsidiary, the company is positioning itself to participate in the evolving market for electric vehicle components and supporting technologies.

Incorporated on December 16, 2021, Shakti EV Mobility Private Limited focuses on manufacturing electric vehicle motors for multiple vehicle categories. Its product portfolio covers applications for two-wheelers, three-wheelers, four-wheelers and special-purpose electric vehicles.

The subsidiary also manufactures electric vehicle chargers and controllers, which are essential components in the operation and performance of electric vehicles. These products serve a market that is expanding as automakers and mobility businesses seek reliable components for their electric vehicle platforms.

The company’s presence across different vehicle categories could provide opportunities to serve a broader range of EV manufacturers as electrification expands beyond personal transportation into commercial and specialised applications.

Shakti EV Mobility reported total assets of approximately ₹128.57 crore as of March 31, 2026. Its annual turnover also increased significantly in FY2026, reaching ₹24.25 crore compared with ₹3.73 crore in FY2025.

The growth in turnover points to increased business activity, although sustained performance will depend on future demand, manufacturing capabilities and the subsidiary’s ability to build relationships with customers across the EV industry.

The additional investment provides financial support as the subsidiary develops its business. However, the company has not specified a detailed production expansion timeline or disclosed the precise allocation of the latest ₹5 crore investment.

India’s electric vehicle industry is creating opportunities for manufacturers of motors, controllers, chargers and other essential components. As more vehicle manufacturers introduce electric models, demand for dependable components is expected to remain an important factor in the development of the domestic EV supply chain.

For Shakti Pumps, expanding into electric mobility offers an opportunity to build on its existing engineering and manufacturing experience while diversifying its business into another technology-driven sector.

The company’s continued investment in Shakti EV Mobility indicates a long-term commitment to this segment. Its product range across multiple vehicle categories could help it explore opportunities in personal mobility, commercial transportation and specialised electric vehicles.

The latest ₹5 crore investment brings Shakti Pumps’ cumulative investment in Shakti EV Mobility to ₹80 crore, reinforcing the parent company’s commitment to developing its electric vehicle business.

Going forward, the subsidiary’s ability to expand its customer base, improve operational efficiency and scale its manufacturing activities will be important factors in determining its performance in India’s competitive EV components market.

As the country’s electric mobility ecosystem continues to evolve, Shakti Pumps’ investment strategy reflects its ambition to establish a stronger position in the sector while supporting the wider transition towards cleaner transportation.
