Jio-bp and Kia India have partnered to integrate their electric vehicle (EV) charging networks, aiming to make public EV charging more accessible and convenient for electric car owners across India. The collaboration will allow Kia EV customers to access Jio-bp’s charging infrastructure through the K-Charge feature on the MyKia app. The partnership will expand the charging options available to customers and support the growing adoption of electric mobility in the country.
Kia EV Owners to Access Over 23,500 Charging Points
Under the partnership, Jio-bp’s network of more than 7,000 EV charging points across over 1,100 charging sites in more than 300 cities will be integrated into Kia India’s MyKia app. With this addition, Kia EV owners will be able to access more than 23,500 public charging points nationwide through the K-Charge platform.
The integration is designed to simplify the charging process by bringing key functions together within a single digital platform. Customers will be able to locate charging stations, navigate to their preferred locations, initiate charging sessions, monitor charging progress and make digital payments through the respective applications.
By reducing the need to switch between multiple platforms, the collaboration aims to deliver a more seamless public charging experience for EV users.
Kia Dealership Chargers to Join Jio-bp’s Network
The partnership will also integrate Kia India’s dealership-based charging infrastructure into the Jio-bp pulse charge pro app. Kia currently operates 125 direct-current (DC) fast chargers across its dealerships, which will be progressively added to the platform. New chargers commissioned in the future are also expected to become part of the integrated network.
This two-way integration will expand charging accessibility for customers using both platforms. It will also help improve the visibility of available charging infrastructure, particularly for drivers looking for reliable charging options during daily commutes and longer journeys.
High-Speed Charging to Support Long-Distance Travel
Jio-bp’s charging network includes DC fast chargers with capacities ranging from 60 kW to 480 kW. These high-capacity charging solutions can support compatible electric vehicles, depending on their charging specifications and capabilities.
Jio-bp also reports a network uptime of 96%, highlighting reliability as an important part of its charging services. Its charging locations along major national highways are expected to support intercity travel by providing EV owners with additional charging options on longer routes.
The Jio-bp pulse charge pro app offers real-time network information and charging-session management, helping users identify charging locations and manage their charging requirements more efficiently.
Partnership Aims to Improve the EV Ownership Experience
Kia India’s Senior Vice-President of Sales and Marketing, Atul Sood, said the integration would provide customers with greater access to charging options through the MyKia app and strengthen the overall EV ownership experience.
Jio-bp Chairman Sarthak Behuria highlighted the importance of accessible and dependable charging infrastructure in building confidence in electric mobility. Jio-bp CEO Akshay Wadhwa also emphasised that charger reliability, alongside availability, is essential to addressing range anxiety among EV owners.
