JSW MG Motor Pioneering EV Ecosystem at DriEV.Bharat
JSW MG Motor India has announced a slew of ‘game-changing’ initiatives for the EV ecosystem at the first DriEV.Bharat event at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. Organized in association with key stakeholders in the industry, this event is said to be a recommitment by the company. It will drive EV adoption and create an overall holistic EV ecosystem.
At the center of these initiatives is the eHUB by MG. Having been introduced by an OEM, this is India’s first and largest charging platform. The company has conceptualized this platform to offer the country’s customers single access to their EV charging experience. It also launched Project REVIVE, executed in collaboration with TERI, Lohum, and BatX, to evaluate the potential of using EV batteries at the end of their automotive lifecycle and beyond.
The project retrofits these batteries as renewable energy storage systems to be used in community applications, thus furthering a circular economy while at the same time supporting India’s ambition to see that each and every one of its citizens gets clean energy.
Leading the EV Revolution
The platform was launched to empower consumers with more knowledge about EVs and to bust the myths that revolve around EVs. The overall idea behind EVPEDIA is to educate users of EVs in an informative, engaging, and candid manner on issues relating to technology, benefits, costs, and maintenance.
In that aspect, it was now announced that the MG-Jio Innovative Connectivity Platform, soon to be standardized across all upcoming MG vehicles, will be a torchbearer of advanced technology and connected car experiences.
These pioneering initiatives from the end of JSW MG Motor India will reinstate their position at the very front of the EV revolution in the country—a stride leading the charge towards sustainable mobility and, therefore, an all-encompassing EV ecosystem.
MG Motor Introduces Next-Gen Car Features
JSW MG Motor India issued an important update that every new car in the MG portfolio would be offered with the innovative connectivity solution of MG-Jio, the state-of-the-art innovative connectivity platform (MG-Jio ICP). It comprises in-car entertainment through the MG App Store, enhanced voice commands in six Indian languages, and a pioneering home-to-car feature.
Afterwards, it was joined by a panel on the long-term benefits of electric vehicles, featuring industry experts from EY and IIT, leading the debate. Gaurav Gupta, Chief Growth Officer, JSW MG Motor India, shared the vision of the company to redefine electric mobility in India.
He reiterated that it is committed to driving EV technology forward and enhancing the customer experience through a host of initiatives, such as the unified charging platform, battery second-life projects, education on EVs, and the MG-Jio ICP.
Pioneering India’s EV Revolution
JSW MG Motor has managed to launch the first internet-connected electric SUV in India, the MG ZS EV, as well as the innovative MG Comet EV. The company is focused on building a robust EV ecosystem and offers end-to-end charging solutions, with plans for the installation of 1,000 community chargers across the country.
Industry-leading collaborations and other efforts, such as MGDP and MG Nurture, engage over 1,500 startups and 50 colleges on EV education and skill development in eHUB by MG.
This is an extremely user-friendly platform for EV charging. The company provides access to a large network of charging stations with the collaboration of its main charging providers. It is available in 11 languages and has planning features to ensure continuous and hassle-free charging on any kind of journey.
Driving Sustainability and Knowledge
Project REVIVE is a unique collaboration with TERI and Lohum for the reuse of used EV batteries. Extracting the healthiest components from these used EV batteries will help create energy solutions for schools and community centers in need of them. This project can thus serve three important purposes: extending the life of batteries, reducing battery waste, and bringing light to underprivileged areas.
A successful pilot working in Mukteshwar has been done. EVPEDIA is indeed the first independent electric vehicle information portal, carrying detailed information regarding electric cars. Besides technical descriptions, it has cost calculators, summaries of government policies, and resources for research.
Other prominent attributes of its aid in helping a user through and adopt EVs include interactive features and an AI-driven chatbot called ‘eVir’.
MG Motor and Jio Redefine In-Car Experience
The MG-Jio ICP represents a new-age collaboration between MG Motor India and Jio. Industry-first features introduced on the platform include in-car entertainment via the MG Store, voice commands in six languages across the length and breadth of India, and revolutionary home-to-car functionality.
JSW MG Motor India has been formed as a joint venture between SAIC Motor and JSW Group. Incorporated to create a smart, sustainable ecosystem in automobiles, it will bring newer technologies and innovative products. It is committed to world-class technology, manufacturing excellence, and job creation.
