India’s electric mobility revolution has officially entered the heavy-duty farming segment. EV startup Bullwork Mobility has unveiled its flagship electric tractor BEAST 9696E, which the company claims to be India’s most powerful electric tractor till date.
The launch marks a major milestone for the electrification of agriculture and industrial operations in the country, where diesel has traditionally dominated.
Powertrain & Battery: Built for Heavy-Duty Work
The BEAST 9696E is powered by a 96 kW high-torque electric motor, paired with a 96 kWh liquid-cooled LFP battery pack. This EV-first architecture delivers:
- Instant torque for heavy pulling operations
- Zero tailpipe emissions
- Significantly lower operating costs compared to diesel tractors
Unlike retrofitted electric tractors, BEAST has been engineered completely from ground-up as an electric platform, ensuring better thermal management, optimized power delivery, and higher drivetrain efficiency.
Performance & Capability
The tractor supports:
- Standard PTO outputs of 540 / 1000 RPM
- Lifting capacity ranging from approx. 1,100 kg to 2,500 kg, depending on the implement
- Compatibility with Category-2 farming implements
- Attachments such as front loaders and backhoes
This positions the BEAST 9696E not just as an agricultural tool, but as a multi-utility electric workhorse suitable for farming, construction, logistics yards, and industrial material handling.
Autonomous-Ready & Smart Farming Friendly
One of the standout elements of the BEAST 9696E is its drive-by-wire architecture and autonomous-ready design. The tractor is built to support:
- Automated driving systems
- Precision farming tools
- Remote monitoring and intelligent fleet operations
This opens the door for future use in AI-driven agriculture and labor-optimized farming, a big advantage at a time when rural labor availability is increasingly uncertain.
Operational Economics & Sustainability Impact
From a cost perspective, electric tractors like BEAST can reduce:
- Fuel expenses by up to 70–80% over lifecycle
- Maintenance costs due to fewer moving parts
- Downtime related to engine wear, oil changes, and clutch systems
On the sustainability front, the tractor offers zero emissions at point of use, supporting India’s broader climate goals and the transition to low-carbon farming and infrastructure development.
Strategic Significance for India’s EV Ecosystem
The launch of the BEAST 9696E signals an important shift. Until now, India’s EV boom has largely centered around two-wheelers, three-wheelers, and passenger cars. Heavy-duty segments like tractors were still waiting for serious electrification.
With this launch, Bullwork Mobility has placed electric tractors firmly into the mainstream EV conversation.
In simple words — yeh tractor sirf kheti ke liye nahi, future ke liye bana hai.
