KP Group’s Gujarat EV & Hydrogen Fuel Initiative Supports ‘Viksit Gujarat to Viksit Bharat’ Vision, Advancing India’s Clean Energy Transition
In a significant move to bolster India’s clean mobility infrastructure, KP Group, a leading renewable energy company, announced an ₹8,000 crore investment to establish a network of hydrogen and electric vehicle (EV) fuel stations across Gujarat. The announcement came during the first Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference for North Gujarat in Mehsana, where the company signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Gujarat.
Under the MoU, the Gujarat government will support KP Group in obtaining all necessary approvals and clearances under existing policies and regulatory frameworks. The project is expected to commence in 2026 and is anticipated to generate around 1,000 employment opportunities across the state, contributing to both economic growth and green infrastructure development.
Faruk G Patel, Chairman and Managing Director of KP Group, said, “At KP Group, we have always believed in contributing to a cleaner, greener, and more self-reliant Gujarat. We are rapidly scaling our renewable energy capacity, but we also want to grow in emerging areas like hydrogen and EV.”
The MoU was signed by Affan Patel, Director, KP Group, and Bhakti Shamal, Joint Secretary, Energy and Petrochemicals Department, in the presence of Chief Minister Bhupendra Bhai Patel, Finance Minister Kanubhai Desai, and Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy Prahlad Joshi.
KP Group highlighted that the initiative will support the state’s “Viksit Gujarat to Viksit Bharat” vision and accelerate the transition to clean mobility by expanding hydrogen and EV fuel infrastructure. Faruk G Patel added, “This MoU reflects our commitment to building sustainable infrastructure and shaping Gujarat’s future as India’s clean energy leader.”
Earlier, during the 10th Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit in Gandhinagar, KP Group had signed MoUs worth ₹17,790 crore with the state government. These included ₹16,690 crore for 2,675 MW of wind, solar, and hybrid power projects and ₹1,000 crore for a green hydrogen plant, demonstrating the company’s strong focus on renewable energy and green mobility. This latest investment underlines Gujarat’s growing role as a hub for clean energy and sustainable transportation in India, positioning the state at the forefront of the nation’s EV and hydrogen fuel ecosystem.
