Tata Motors Supplies Electric Buses for Jammu Smart City Project
Tata Motors, the largest commercial vehicle manufacturer in India, has supplied cutting-edge Ultra EV air-conditioned electric buses to Jammu Smart City Limited through its subsidiary, TML Smart City Mobility Solutions (J&K) Pvt Ltd.
The project, spearheaded by the Housing and Urban Development Department of the Government of Jammu & Kashmir, aims to establish an eco-friendly public transportation system in Jammu. These emission-free electric buses, manufactured in India with advanced technology, prioritize safety, comfort, and convenience, offering Jammu residents reliable and zero-emission intra-city commuting options.
The delivery of these electric buses is part of a larger commitment to provide, maintain, and operate 100 electric buses in Srinagar and 100 in Jammu for 12 years under the Jammu and Srinagar Smart City projects.
The fleet was inaugurated by Shri Amit Shah, Hon’ble Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, Government of India, in the presence of Dr. Mahendra Nath Pandey, Hon’ble Minister of Heavy Industries, Government of India, and Shri Manoj Sinha, Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir. The event saw the participation of esteemed dignitaries, including Shri Jugal Kishore Sharma, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, and other government officials.
