Volkswagen Launches New ID. Buzz GTX with 4MOTION All-Wheel Drive

Volkswagen Unveils the New ID. Buzz GTX: An Electric Marvel Combining Tradition and Innovation

Volkswagen has recently launched the ID. Buzz GTX, an electric version of the iconic Bulli, is packed with a wide array of customizable features. This includes various wheelbase lengths, battery capacities, and seating layouts, ensuring versatility for every type of driver.

The vehicle comes equipped with the standard 4MOTION all-wheel drive, enhancing its traction capabilities. Volkswagen is set to start pre-sales this summer, expanding its collection of dynamic GTX models.

At the heart of the ID. Buzz GTX are two electric motors designed for supreme efficiency and performance. It is capable of reaching a maximum speed of 160 km/h, which is electronically limited for safety. The vehicle offers two battery options, allowing for a swift recharge from 10 to 80 per cent in merely 26 minutes at DC fast-charging stations, compatible with up to 185 kW or 200 kW.

Thanks to the added muscle and the sophisticated 4MOTION drive system, the ID. Buzz GTX supports significantly higher maximum trailer weights. The standard wheelbase model can tow up to 1,800 kg (with brakes, at an 8% gradient), and the extended wheelbase version can manage up to 1,600 kg, showing an improvement of 800 kg and 600 kg, respectively, over previous capacities. The 4MOTION system ensures the vehicle remains a reliable choice for towing, especially useful in challenging conditions like wet or loose terrain, ideal for moving boats or horse trailers.

Inside, the ID. Buzz GTX showcases a sporty and elegant interior, characterized by dark hues and exclusive features. The GTX variant introduces a black headliner and seats adorned with a unique GTX pattern. The front seats, which are electrically adjustable and include a memory function, are covered in black ArtVelours Eco microfleece, highlighted with a diamond pattern, red contrast stitching, and piping. Additional sporty accents include red cross-stitching on the multifunction steering wheel, red trim on the centre console, and chrome-integrated GTX lettering.

Looking ahead, the long-wheelbase ID. Buzz will be available with an optional panoramic sunroof equipped with smart glass technology. This feature allows users to adjust the transparency of the glass electronically, a nod to the “Samba Bus” with its iconic roof windows, reimagined for the modern era. This panoramic sunroof is set to be the largest ever in a Volkswagen, blending tradition with cutting-edge innovation seamlessly.
