UPCOMING Simple Dot One Electric Scooter Set to Launch on December 15

Simple One is an electric scooter from a Bengaluru-based EV startup, Simple Energy. It was launched in India on August 15, 2021, and claims to offer a range of 203 km on a single charge

The new Simple Dot One, which will be priced under Rs 1 lakh and be a direct competitor to the Ola S1 X, will be launched on December 15, 2023, by Bengaluru-based EV startup, Simple Energy. It was launched in India on August 15, 2021, and claims to offer a range of 203 km on a single charge.

The Simple Dot One will sit below the Simple One EV, with bookings for the EV opening on December 15 and deliveries starting in January 2024. The Simple One Dot will be based on the same platform as the Simple One and will feature a fixed 3.7 kWh battery pack with 151 kilometres of certified range and 160 km in IDC.

Although the business has not disclosed any information on the electric motor, it is anticipated to be less potent than the One’s unit.

With a few minor cosmetic adjustments, the new Simple Dot One is anticipated to look and feel just like the Simple One. It may have drum brakes instead of disc brakes, but it may still have a telescopic unit up front and a mono-shock at the back for suspension. The new Simple Dot One is anticipated to come with a touchscreen instrument cluster with app connectivity, as well as all LED lighting, navigation, Bluetooth integration with phone and message notifications, and much more.

Regarding the Simple One, the EV is equipped with a 5kWh battery pack and an electric motor that produces 8.5kW of peak power and 4.5kW of continuous power. The e-scooter can accelerate from 0 to 40 km/h in 2.77 seconds, with a top speed of 105 km/h. Its claimed range is 212 km. Additionally, it comes with four ride modes: Eco, Ride, Dash, and Sonic.
