The landscape of the Indian automotive industry is poised for a thrilling shift with the upcoming 2024 launch of six new mid-size electric SUVs. Leading industry players including Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Tata, Mahindra, and Citroen are preparing to captivate electric vehicle aficionados with their newest models.

Tata Curvv EV

Leading the charge in the electric revolution is the Tata Curvv, which will go on sale in the next months. Tata offers both internal combustion and electric versions, with the latter having a remarkable 500 km range on a single charge.

There is a lot of excitement among Tata devotees as they impatiently await the much-awaited introduction of this electric marvel, which was tantalizingly showcased at the recent Auto Expo and is expected to have a powerful dual motor system leading the Curve range.

Maruti Suzuki EVX

Not to be outdone, the company previews the EVX, its first electric car. Showing off a near-production model at the most recent Japan Auto Show, the EVX can travel 500 km on a single charge and comes in single and dual motor models.

Hyundai Creta EV

Hyundai is gearing up to electrify its well-liked Creta. Scheduled for release in 2024, this electric version is purported to use a 45kWh lithium-ion battery from LG Cell, along with the same motor that powers the Hyundai Kona. This is a calculated move that demonstrates Hyundai’s dedication to expanding its line of electric vehicles.

Mahindra XUV E8

Due for release at the end of 2024, the XUV E8 is an electric car that is expected to be launched on the Inculo platform. It will have a range of 450 km on a single charge and will resemble the XUV 700 in terms of appearance, especially in terms of its attractive front end.

Tata Safari EV

Tata adds an electric vehicle to its lineup in addition to the Curve. The Safari EV is expected to be in dealerships by late 2024 or early 2025 and has a 500 km range. While it retains the essence of its gas version, minor modifications will indicate that it is an electric vehicle.

Citroen EC3 Aircross

Citroen, the French carmaker, is aiming to enter the electric SUV market with the EC3 Aircross. Like its sibling with a combustion engine, the EC3 Aircross is expected to have a big impact when it launches in late 2024, further demonstrating Citroen’s dedication to appealing to the environmentally conscious market.

Conclusion

India is leading the way in the e-mobility wave, and as 2024 approaches, a wide range of electric vehicles will be reviving the market and capturing the interest of car enthusiasts all over the nation. As consumer preferences are shaped by environmental concerns and technological advancements, electric vehicles will become necessities rather than novelty items paving the way to the future.
