BluSmart has 7,000 EVs in its ride-hailing service fleet
BluSmart, a forefront innovator in the electric mobility (eMobility) sector, proudly announced a significant milestone in its journey towards sustainable transportation solutions. The company, known for its commitment to a born-electric, full-stack, and vertically integrated ride-hailing service, alongside a comprehensive electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure network, has successfully expanded its fleet to include 7,000 electric vehicles.
This diverse fleet comprises advanced models such as the BYD E6, Tata Tigor EV, and MG ZS EV, marking a significant achievement in the company’s growth. Operating across key urban centers, including Delhi NCR and Bengaluru, BluSmart is not just a mobility service provider but a visionary enterprise steering towards an eco-friendly future.
At the heart of BluSmart’s innovative business model lies a fusion of energy, infrastructure, and mobility, all powered by cutting-edge, native-born-electric technology. This unique integration has propelled the company to complete over 12.5 million all-electric journeys. These journeys collectively account for 410 million clean kilometres, effectively preventing the emission of 30 million kilograms of CO2 into the atmosphere. Such achievements underscore the company’s pivotal role in combating climate change and its commitment to sustainable urban mobility.
Furthermore, BluSmart’s operational excellence is highlighted by its network of more than 4,400 EV chargers. These chargers are strategically distributed across 36 EV charging superhubs, sprawling over 1.5 million square feet in Delhi NCR and Bengaluru, emphasizing the company’s substantial investment in creating a robust infrastructure for electric vehicles.
“We are excited to announce that our fleet size now stands at 7,000 EVs, giving wheels to our vision. This fleet expansion enhances our capacity to serve both the cities we operate in and meet the growing demand of commuters. We remain committed to our mission to ‘Decarbonise Mobility at Scale’ and of providing zero ride-denial, transparent pricing, on-time pickups, clean cars and exceptional service to our riders.”
Anirudh Arun, Co-founder & CEO, BluSmart Fleet, said.
In a significant boost to its ambitions and operations, BluSmart successfully raised $25 million in debt and equity funding from ResponsAbility, a leading climate investment firm, in Jan 2024. This infusion of capital is expected to further accelerate BluSmart’s initiatives, especially those geared towards expanding its fleet and enhancing employment opportunities.
The funding underscores the confidence of the investment community in BluSmart’s business model, its approach to sustainability, and its potential to drive meaningful change in the urban mobility landscape, with a particular emphasis on inclusivity for women driver partners.
