Citroën and BluSmart Mobility Collaborate to Boost India’s Electric Fleet with 4,000 ë-C3 Vehicles
French car manufacturer Citroën has joined forces with BluSmart Mobility, the foremost electric mobility provider in India, to enhance the company’s expansion of its electric fleet. The partnership has been formalized through a memorandum of understanding (MoU), which includes the delivery of 4,000 ë-C3 units to BluSmart Mobility.
This collaboration is a timely response to the increasing demand for eco-friendly transport options. Initially, 125 units of the Citroën ë-C3 were introduced at BluSmart’s electric vehicle charging superhub in Bengaluru.
The addition of the Citroën ë-C3, an electric compact SUV, to BluSmart’s fleet, which already exceeds 7,000 electric vehicles, enhances the company’s service offerings. The ë-C3 stands out with a remarkable driving range of 320 kilometers according to ARAI standards and boasts state-of-the-art fast-charging capabilities that can replenish its battery to full in less than an hour. The SUV’s spacious design and Citroën’s Advanced Comfort Program promise passengers a superior travel experience, making the vehicle ideal for luggage-heavy journeys such as airport transfers—a key part of BluSmart’s offerings.
“This collaboration between Citroën and BluSmart Mobility signifies a shared vision for a sustainable future in electric mobility, reaffirming our commitment to shaping a cleaner and greener transportation ecosystem. The ë-C3’s smart design, operational range, fast charging capabilities, and intuitive technology make it an attractive proposition for passengers and fleet operators alike.”
Shishir Mishra, Brand Director at Citroën India, expressed,
“With a shared goal of achieving net-zero mobility and providing premium, reliable, and safe ride experiences, Citroën is the ideal partner for BluSmart. As we aim to ‘Decarbonize Mobility at Scale,’ our partnership with Citroën strengthens our mission to construct a comprehensive EV mobility ecosystem in India.”
Anmol Jaggi, Co-founder & CEO of BluSmart, emphasized the shared vision with Citroën, stating.
BluSmart also unveiled “Assure by BluSmart,” an innovative scheme inviting retail and institutional investors to support the shift towards electric mobility. This program enables the financing of EV purchases and their leasing back to BluSmart, promising fixed returns and advancing the cause of sustainable transport.
BluSmart’s achievements in promoting sustainable mobility include operating a fleet of 7,000 EVs, completing over 12.5 million electric trips, and saving 30 million kilograms of CO2 emissions. The company has also set up 4,400 EV chargers across 36 charging superhubs in major urban areas like Delhi NCR and Bangalore. A recent agreement with Tata Power Trading Company Ltd. for clean energy purchases marks a significant step towards BluSmart’s goal of becoming a fully emission-free company, reinforcing its commitment to decarbonizing mobility at a large scale.
