C-DAC Model EV Charging Station and Hardware Facility
S. Krishnan, Secretary of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, said that intellectual property assumes a very significant role in assuming technological leadership for the country. He was inaugurating a Model Indigenous Electric Vehicle Charging Station and Hardware Emulation Facility at the campus of C-DAC in Technopark. According to the secretary, there is a dire need to be ‘Aatmanirbhar‘ in technologies of paramount importance.
The newly established charging station is equipped with AC and DC fast chargers. It shall help in the creation of an ecosystem for indigenous EV chargers while promoting research, development, and commercialization in the electric vehicle sector.
New Hardware Emulation Facility at C-DAC
Additionally, the Hardware Emulation Facility at C-DAC’s Vellayambalam campus will facilitate the development, testing, and validation of hardware designs for startups.
The event witnessed significant collaborations and technology transfers. C-DAC partnered with Reliamotive Labs to transfer high voltage high-frequency Planar magnetics technology. An MoU was signed with IIT Gandhinagar and L&T Semiconductor Technologies Limited for the development of VEGA processor-based System on Chips. C-DAC also formed a partnership with Aheesa Digital Innovations Pvt. Ltd. to develop network security solutions.
C-DAC Partners for Energy Solutions
The model facilitated an enormous role in driving energy innovation through strategic partnering. C-DAC inked MoAs with Hykon India Ltd. and Tata Power Electric Mobility to drive V2G technologies, and another one with JMV LPS to promote the deployment of Smart Meter technologies.

To include the hard challenges of grid integration and energy management, Hykon India Ltd. and C-DAC have come out with their joint effort entitled Hybrid Power Conditioning System for Microgrids. The new technology will enhance energy efficiency and reliability in localized power supply systems.
The event was a gathering of over 100 researchers, scientists, industry representatives, and government officials. It was outlined that collaborative effort is an absolute if India is to really make strides in technological growth. Through fostering ties between academia, industry, and the government, C-DAC significantly influenced the country’s energy and technology landscapes.
