DHBVN MD Ashok Kumar Garg directs officers to prioritise and promptly issue all pending EV charging connections to boost Haryana’s EV network
In a bid to strengthen Haryana’s electric mobility ecosystem, the Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN) has announced a renewed focus on expediting electric vehicle (EV) charging connections across its jurisdiction. The move aligns with the state government’s initiative to expand EV charging infrastructure and promote cleaner transportation.
According to DHBVN officials, the utility has so far received 360 applications for EV charging connections, of which 250 have already been issued, while 110 remain pending. The Managing Director of DHBVN, Ashok Kumar Garg, has directed all officers to treat EV category connections as a top priority and ensure that pending applications are resolved at the earliest.
“Directions have been given to issue EV charging connections promptly. All officers must ensure there are no unnecessary delays in processing these applications,” Garg said.
He emphasised that developing robust electrical infrastructure for EV charging is a key government objective, and oil marketing companies (OMCs) such as BPCL, HPCL, and IOCL are already installing EV chargers at existing petrol pumps to support the transition.
As per operational guidelines, the cost of transformers and associated infrastructure for EV charging stations will be borne by DHBVN, ensuring ease for applicants and faster deployment.“Given the national importance of this initiative and its role in expanding the EV ecosystem, such delays are not acceptable,” Garg added, underlining the discom’s commitment to accelerating Haryana’s EV adoption drive.
