BGauss C12 MaxR Electric Scooter Launched at ₹1.46 Lakh

BGauss has launched the C12 MaxR electric scooter in India as its new flagship family-oriented electric scooter. The model carries an ex-showroom price of ₹1,59,990, while BGauss is currently offering it at an introductory price of ₹1,45,990. The company’s website also lists an effective ex-showroom price of ₹1,54,990 after the applicable ₹5,000 PM E-Drive benefit.

The C12 MaxR sits above BGauss’ existing C12 range and focuses on three areas that increasingly matter in India’s premium family scooter market: range, storage and connected features.

The BGauss C12 MaxR electric scooter uses a 3.8 kWh LFP battery pack paired with a hub-mounted electric motor producing 4.2 kW of peak power. BGauss claims a certified range of 178 km on a full charge, while the scooter has a claimed top speed of 75 km/h.

Riders can choose between Eco, Ride and Sport riding modes. The scooter also gets reverse mode and cruise control, adding convenience for urban commuting.

BGauss says the underlying platform has been engineered for a service life of up to 1.5 lakh kilometres, positioning durability as another part of the MaxR’s proposition.

Practicality is a major focus of the C12 MaxR. The scooter offers 38 litres of storage, with BGauss claiming the underseat area can accommodate two helmets. It also gets additional everyday-use storage solutions, including a pop-out umbrella holder and a lockable compartment suitable for documents or a wallet.

The scooter rides on 12-inch alloy wheels with tubeless tyres. Suspension duties are handled by a telescopic fork at the front and a monoshock at the rear, while braking hardware comprises a 220 mm front disc brake and rear drum brake.

The C12 MaxR gets a 5-inch TFT instrument display with information such as ride statistics and charging data, along with call alerts. Connected features include vehicle health monitoring, parental controls and remote speed-mode selection.

Other equipment highlighted by BGauss includes reverse mode, USB charging, a side-stand sensor, fall detection and a limp-home function for low-battery situations.

The scooter is available in four colour choices, including dual-tone finishes on selected versions.

With the C12 MaxR, BGauss is moving further into the increasingly competitive premium electric family scooter category.

The 178 km certified range gives it a stronger range proposition than the company’s existing C12 products, while its larger storage capacity and comfort-oriented feature package show that the focus is not purely on performance.

Its introductory ₹1.46 lakh pricing places the MaxR in a segment where customers are increasingly comparing electric scooters not just on battery size, but also on practicality, connected technology, charging experience and aftersales support.
