Honda Introduces N-VAN e: Revolutionizing the Commercial Mini-EV Segment

Honda Motor Co., Ltd. has unveiled the N-VAN e: a commercial-use mini-EV that brings the popular gasoline-powered N-VAN into the electric age with a suite of user-friendly features. Retaining the much-loved attributes of its predecessor—like the spacious cargo area with a flat, low floor, high ceiling, and a large passenger side opening thanks to the absence of a center pillar—the N-VAN e: adds unique EV benefits such as a power output function and an exceptionally quiet cabin.

The N-VAN e: boasts a practical range of 245 km (152 miles) per charge in WLTC mode, perfect for delivery services. This range is achieved through a large-capacity battery, a compact eAxle, and a centralized high-voltage component layout that maximizes cargo space. Charging is efficient, with normal charging taking about 4.5 hours and fast charging (up to 80%) just 30 minutes. The battery’s cooling and heating system mitigates performance drops in extreme temperatures, further enhancing range and reducing charging time, especially during winter.

Honda offers four variations of the N-VAN e: to meet diverse customer needs:

➡️ e: L4: A standard 4-seater suitable for both commercial and personal use, featuring a 7-inch LCD meter and two-tone exterior color options.

➡️ e: FUN: Based on the e: L4, this variant includes a light beige interior, LED headlights, and fast charging capability, ideal for leisure activities.

➡️ e: G: Designed for commercial use, this single-seat version offers increased interior length and a lower floor height for enhanced functionality.

➡️ e: L2: Featuring tandem seats on the driver side and a large opening on the passenger side, this model is optimized for easy access and loading/unloading.

The e: G and e: L2 models are exclusively available through Honda’s Fleet Sales Division and the Honda ON online store.

Safety is a key focus for the N-VAN e:, with advanced driver-assistive functions standard across all models. It is the first in its segment to include side curtain airbags and the Post-Collision Braking System. The Honda SENSING suite, standard on the e: L4 and e: FUN, includes features like the Collision Mitigation Braking System, Lane Keeping Assist System, and Adaptive Cruise Control.

Honda CONNECT enhances the user experience with remote control of various EV functions via a smartphone app, including setting departure times for temperature control and optimizing charging times to reduce electricity costs and extend range.

Pricing for the N-VAN e: starts at 2,699,400 yen for the e: L4 and 2,919,400 yen for the e: FUN. The e: G is priced at 2,439,800 yen, and the e: L2 starts at 2,549,800 yen. Additional charges apply for certain body colors and features. With the introduction of the N-VAN e:, Honda is set to revolutionize the commercial EV market, offering a versatile, efficient, and safe vehicle that addresses the evolving needs of businesses and individuals alike.
