Ather Energy unveils the 450 Apex for INR 1.89 lakh
The 450 Apex, a limited-edition scooter that celebrates ten years of Ather Energy, was unveiled on 6 jan, 2024. According to the company, the 450 Apex is the peak of performance and pushes the boundaries of design for all scooters in the nation.
Ather has unveiled “Magic Twist,” a city riding function that provides exceptional ease to the rider, in addition to a new color scheme and a slew of other new features on the 450 Apex, according to the firm.
“We wanted to do something special to mark 10 years of Ather and push the boundaries of design, performance, and innovation. The 450 Apex is the culmination of that effort, where we have pushed the 450 platform to its limit in terms of design and performance. The 450 Apex has India’s fastest throttle response, and it is Ather’s most exciting scooter in production today.”

With the 450 Apex, the company has improved performance even further, according to Ather. The scooter can go from 0 to 40 km/h in just 2.9 seconds thanks to a new riding mode called Warp+. It also has an industry-best reaction time of 90 ms, which makes it the fastest throttle response time among both EVs and ICE scooters.
With Warp+, Ather has increased the power levels of the 450 Apex by 10% so that the peak torque is sustained at higher speeds. This has resulted in a 30% faster 40–80 km/h speed compared to the 450X. With the increased motor power, the 450 Apex now has a top speed of 100 km/h. The 450 Apex delivers peak torque of 210 Nm at the wheel, nearly 25% higher than its closest competitor and the average 200cc ICE two-wheeler, which is also the best in the scooter industry.
On the 450 Apex, Ather has also added a new user interface (UI) that transitions the animation based on power input to create an immersive riding experience.
A conventional 2W regenerative braking system only slows down the vehicle and kicks in at about 85% battery charge or below; it is unable to bring the vehicle to a complete stop. The Magic Twist, on the other hand, comes with 40% more braking force than any other 2W regen available in India, according to a press release from the company. The Magic Twist is an evolution of conventional regenerative braking offered for the first time with the 450 Apex that is actually able to bring the scooter to a complete stop and works even at 100% battery charge.
The Ather 450 Apex, which is India’s only scooter with a transparent panel, has a transparent panel over a painted orange chassis, a testament to Ather’s clean engineering design, to expose the scooter’s clean interior design to the outside world, the company said.
For those who take delivery of the 450 Apex, Ather has also announced a Delight Kit that includes a handcrafted helmet in a blue-orange color scheme that complements the scooter, an integrated Ather TPMS, a neck gaiter, an iron-on garment patch, and a uniquely designed keychain. According to Ather, the “Indium Blue” used in the 450 Apex is the latest shade of blue and is considered the mattest blue out there, with a rich satin feel offset against a bold orange, creating a combination that has never been seen before.
Bookings for the Ather 450 Apex are now open, and deliveries will begin in March 2024. Priced at INR 1.89 lakh (ex-showroom and not including subsidy), the 450 Apex promises a design that is bold and will take the rider to the pinnacle of performance, the company added. It also comes with a complimentary 3-year Ather Connect subscription and a 5-year or 60,000-kilometer battery warranty.
