Mahindra Unveils XEV 9e and BE 6e Electric SUVs in India

In a significant move towards sustainable mobility, Mahindra & Mahindra has launched its much-anticipated electric SUVs, the XEV 9e and BE 6e, in India. These models mark the debut of Mahindra’s new sub-brands, XEV and BE, and are set to redefine the electric vehicle (EV) landscape in the country.

Pricing and Availability

Priced at ₹21.90 lakh for the XEV 9e and ₹18.90 lakh for the BE 6e, these SUVs are expected to hit the market in January 2025, with deliveries commencing between February and March. These prices position the SUVs as attractive options in the burgeoning EV market in India. By offering these models at competitive prices, Mahindra aims to make electric vehicles more accessible to a broader audience, encouraging more consumers to make the switch to sustainable transportation.

Advanced INGLO Architecture

Both the XEV 9e and BE 6e are built on Mahindra’s state-of-the-art INGLO architecture, a lightweight skateboard platform designed specifically for electric vehicles. This platform incorporates high-density battery technology and boasts a modular, scalable design that prioritizes passenger safety and vehicle performance. Constructed with ultra-high-strength boron steel, the platform features a protective cage around the cabin to ensure occupant safety. Additionally, the INGLO architecture enhances cabin space, stability, and superior handling capabilities, making these SUVs not only safe but also comfortable and enjoyable to drive.

Stylish and Distinctive Design

The design of the XEV 9e and BE 6e sets them apart in the EV market. The XEV 9e flaunts a sporty coupe-like SUV design, highlighted by triangular LED headlights, wide-spanning LED daytime running lights, and a coupe-style roofline. Sleek LED tail lamps and an illuminated Mahindra logo accentuate its muscular aesthetics. On the other hand, the BE 6e exudes an aggressive and contemporary appearance with sharp character lines, a pointed hood with a hood scoop, C-shaped LED daytime running lights, and a streamlined bumper. Its aerodynamic 20-inch alloy wheels and illuminated BE emblem further enhance its futuristic appeal.

Feature-Packed Interiors

  • XEV 9e Interiors: Triple-screen setup, advanced infotainment system, driver’s display, connectivity features, twin-spoke steering wheel, wireless charging, 16-speaker audio system, and panoramic sunroof.
  • BE 6e Interiors: Twin-screen wraparound display design, automatic parking, and premium features similar to the XEV 9e.

These features highlight Mahindra’s focus on providing a premium and technologically advanced driving experience for its customers. The interiors of the XEV 9e and BE 6e are designed to offer maximum comfort and convenience, with a range of high-tech features that enhance the overall driving experience. The triple-screen setup in the XEV 9e provides a seamless interface for navigation, entertainment, and vehicle information, while the twin-screen wraparound display in the BE 6e offers an immersive user experience.

The inclusion of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) ensures a safe and secure driving experience, with features such as adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and automatic emergency braking. The panoramic sunroof adds to the sense of space and openness in the cabin, creating a pleasant and airy environment for passengers. Overall, the interiors of the XEV 9e and BE 6e are designed to provide a luxurious and comfortable driving experience, with a focus on advanced technology and premium features.
