Jupiter Electric Mobility Receives ARAI Approval for JEM TEZ Electric Vehicle
Jupiter Electric Mobility Private Limited (JEM), a subsidiary of Jupiter Wagons Limited, has reached a major milestone by securing approval from The Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) for its innovative Battery Operated Light Commercial Vehicles. The certification, under Certificate No. AATB 0182, confirms compliance with Central Motor Vehicles Rules, setting the stage for the commercial production of the JEM TEZ.
JEM is poised to revolutionize the market with the introduction of the first 1-ton commercial electric vehicle (EV), branded as JEM TEZ. This vehicle features advanced fast charging technology, enabling it to charge from 0% to 100% in about 20 minutes at combined charging stations, establishing a new benchmark for charging times. Additionally, the onboard charger allows for a full charge in under 2 hours, with a certified range of 127 kilometers.
The JEM TEZ is equipped with Telematics for real-time monitoring of vehicle health and performance, ensuring efficient maintenance and support. Mr. Vivek Lohia, Managing Director of Jupiter Wagons Limited, expressed his excitement about the approval, emphasizing the company’s dedication to innovation and excellence in the electric mobility sector.

With manufacturing facilities in Jabalpur, Indore, and Kolkata, covering over 200 acres, JEM is well-positioned to lead the market with its tech-enabled processes and skilled workforce. The company plans to expand its electric vehicle portfolio in the future to include Medium Commercial Vehicles (MCV), Heavy Commercial Vehicles (HCV), and buses.
