Okaya EV Unveils the Ferrato Disruptor: Transforming the World of Electric Sports Bikes
In March, Okaya EV launched Ferrato, its new upscale brand. Shortly afterwards, the company debuted its first model under this brand, the Disruptor, which is set to shake up the electric sports bike segment. With a starting price of Rs 1.60 lakh (ex-showroom), Ferrato plans to begin delivering the Disruptor starting in August.
The company has already started accepting pre-bookings on its official website, with an attractive offer for the first 1000 customers who can secure their Disruptor with just a Rs 500 token. Okaya EV is marketing this model with the promise of an economical 25 paise per kilometer running cost and backs it with a comprehensive 3-year or 30,000 km warranty.
“The introduction of the Disruptor under the Ferrato brand marks a significant milestone for us. We aim to captivate the hearts of Indian motor enthusiasts with this electric sports bike, which combines groundbreaking technology, thrilling performance, and a sleek design. The Disruptor is set to transform the EV landscape with its innovative and eco-friendly mobility solutions.”
Anshul Gupta, the Managing Director of Okaya EV, shared his excitement about the new launch.
The Disruptor sports a modern, faired design with twin-LED headlamps embedded in the front apron. It features aesthetically appealing elements such as a floating tail section, split seats, split grab rails, and fairing side skirts. The bike sits on 17-inch black alloy wheels and comes in three striking colors: Inferno Red, Thunder Blue, and Stealth Black.
It boasts a range of high-tech features including a fully digital instrument panel, Bluetooth and GPS connectivity, geo-fencing, and a “Find My Vehicle” feature. Additionally, an optional soundbox can mimic the sound of traditional petrol bikes, enhancing safety by alerting pedestrians and other road users.
Performance-wise, the Disruptor is equipped with a mid-mounted permanent magnet motor. This motor offers a nominal 3.3 kW and a peak 6.37 kW output, channelling power through a chain drive to the rear wheel. It claims a top speed of 380 kmph and includes multiple riding modes such as Eco, City, Sports, and a reverse assist feature.
The bike is powered by a 4 kWh LFP battery, ensuring a 129 km range on a full charge, which takes about five hours. The battery and motor are covered under Okaya’s 3-year or 30,000-kilometer warranty, ensuring peace of mind for new owners.
