Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited’s Push for E-Mobility in India

Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL), a subsidiary of Tata Power, is significantly advancing India’s e-mobility transition by deploying over 850 charging points in major metropolitan areas. These strategically located points span more than 30 bus depots in cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Jammu, Srinagar, Dharwad, Lucknow, and Goa.

This extensive network supports over 2,300 public e-buses nationwide, yielding significant environmental benefits. Tata Power’s initiatives have led to over 100,000 tons of tailpipe CO2 emissions savings, contributing substantially to India’s environmental goals. Additionally, the company has been pivotal in designing and constructing various bus depots across the country.

Advanced Charging Solutions

TPREL’s charging infrastructure features high-capacity fast chargers ranging from 180 to 240 kW, with an average charging time of 1 to 1.5 hours. These rapid charging capabilities are crucial for meeting the operational demands of public transport buses. Delhi stands out as the leading city utilizing Tata Power’s EV charging points, followed by Mumbai, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, Jammu, and Srinagar.

Commitment to E-Mobility and Sustainability

Tata Power is dedicated to promoting e-mobility through collaborations with various Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and state government transport corporations. The company provides an end-to-end solution for charging infrastructure development, focusing on customized and cost-effective design solutions, timely execution, and comprehensive operation and maintenance services. Additional services include effluent treatment plants and obtaining necessary statutory NOC approvals to ensure smooth operations.

Aligning with India’s Net Zero goals, Tata Power aims to achieve Net Zero emissions by 2040.
