Zetwerk Wins Contract from Indian Oil Corporation to Establish EV Fast Charging Stations in India

Zetwerk’s partnership with Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) marks a pivotal step in India’s journey towards sustainable transportation, emphasizing the shared goal of enhancing the electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure.

This collaboration aligns with IOCL’s ambition to emerge as a holistic energy solutions provider, dovetailing with its commitment to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles. The initiative aims to offer consumers accessible clean energy options, thereby reducing both carbon footprints and transportation expenses.

Under this alliance, Zetwerk is set to install over 1,400 EV chargers across the India. These chargers, varying in capacity between 50-60kW and 100-120kW, are equipped as DC Dual gun CCS2 DC Chargers, capable of charging two vehicles concurrently through an intelligent load-sharing mechanism. This installation strategy not only facilitates efficient energy use but also significantly cuts down on waiting times for EV owners.

Abhay Adya, Business Head – Renewables at Zetwerk, shared the company’s enthusiasm for this venture with IOCL. He emphasized the critical role of this initiative in transforming India’s EV charging landscape. By strategically placing these charging stations at IOCL outlets in major urban areas, the partnership aims to enhance the convenience of EV charging, thereby fostering the widespread adoption of EVs and contributing to a greener future.

The collaboration is a testament to Zetwerk’s expanding influence in the renewable energy sphere, highlighted further by its involvement in establishing Bangladesh’s largest solar power plant. This venture not only reflects Zetwerk’s dedication to promoting sustainable energy solutions but also showcases the significant strides both Zetwerk and IOCL are making in propelling India towards a more sustainable and eco-friendly transportation ecosystem.
