India’s electric vehicle charging infrastructure continues to expand as Bolt.Earth has commissioned a high-capacity 1.5 MW EV charging station in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh. Developed in partnership with P Qube Solutions, the facility is being positioned as the largest EV charging station in the state, strengthening charging accessibility for electric vehicles across passenger and commercial segments.

Located at P Qube Solutions near NH-16 Cross in Nunna, Vijayawada, the charging station has been strategically established to serve both local EV users and intercity travellers. Its location along the important National Highway 16 corridor is expected to support the growing demand for reliable charging infrastructure among electric vehicle owners travelling between cities.

The newly commissioned facility features a combination of high-power DC fast chargers and dedicated charging solutions for smaller electric vehicles. The infrastructure has been designed to accommodate electric cars, trucks, buses, three-wheelers and two-wheelers at a single location.

For larger electric vehicles, including passenger cars and heavy commercial vehicles, the charging station offers two 240 kW DC fast chargers, three 180 kW DC fast chargers and one 60 kW DC fast charger.

The facility also includes dedicated charging infrastructure for smaller EV categories. This comprises one 6 kW fast charger for electric three-wheelers, two 3 kW DC fast chargers for electric two-wheelers and four 3.3 kW AC charging sockets.

By bringing together multiple charging capacities, Bolt.Earth aims to address the charging requirements of different vehicle categories while improving the availability of fast-charging facilities along major transport routes.

The project has been developed through a collaboration between Bolt.Earth and P Qube Solutions. The partnership highlights the growing importance of collaborations between charging network operators and infrastructure providers in accelerating the development of India’s electric mobility ecosystem.

Commenting on the deployment, Jyotiranjan Harichandan, Founder of Bolt.Earth, highlighted the importance of combining charging technology, adequate power availability and strategically located sites to develop scalable EV charging infrastructure.

He also emphasised that partnerships with site operators would play an important role in establishing reliable charging networks beyond major urban centres.

D Phani Prakash of P Qube Solutions said the company selected Bolt.Earth for its ability to provide charging solutions across multiple EV segments, supported by hardware, software and after-sales services. The partnership also reflects the growing opportunities in India’s electric mobility sector.

The commissioning of the 1.5 MW charging station represents another development in Andhra Pradesh’s expanding EV infrastructure network. With its proximity to NH-16, the facility is expected to improve charging accessibility for electric vehicle owners travelling through Vijayawada.

High-capacity charging stations along highways are becoming increasingly important as India witnesses growing adoption of electric passenger vehicles, buses and commercial fleets. Reliable charging infrastructure is essential to address range anxiety, support longer-distance journeys and encourage fleet operators to transition towards electric mobility.

Bolt.Earth’s latest deployment also demonstrates how multi-segment charging facilities can support different transportation requirements through a single charging location.

As India’s EV market continues to grow, investments in high-capacity charging infrastructure and strategic partnerships are expected to play a significant role in accelerating electric vehicle adoption. The new Vijayawada facility marks an important addition to Andhra Pradesh’s charging network and strengthens the state’s readiness for the next phase of electric mobility growth.
