Borzo launches Electric 3 wheelers for Last-mile deliveries.

Borzo (formerly WeFast), a global intracity delivery company, has introduced an electric 3-wheeler fleet to provide sustainable logistics solutions. This strategic move aims to provide sustainable delivery options across various delivery modes for businesses and local customers in urban areas, enhancing flexibility and efficiency in the volumetric delivery segment.

In the initial phase, Borzo will deploy electric 3-wheelers in Mumbai, with plans to expand to Delhi. These vehicles will primarily handle lightweight 3-wheeler deliveries, supporting loads of up to 500 kilograms.

The company also intends to grow its EV fleet by adding 4-wheelers, such as mini trucks and tempos, with a capacity of 750 kilograms. This expansion is part of Borzo’s broader vision to electrify at least 30% of its 3-wheeler fleet, making a significant impact on the company’s sustainability roadmap.

Borzo will onboard Gig Delivery partners who will own their vehicles, offering them the flexibility to manage their own schedules while maintaining high operational efficiency. In addition to this, Borzo will collaborate with adequate service providers for electric vehicles (EVs). With this initiative, Borzo aims to enhance sustainability, reduce emissions, and operate in an eco-friendly logistics network. Borzo will ensure that delivery partners have access to reliable, energy-efficient vehicles, allowing them to meet increasing urban delivery demands while aligning with its last-mile sustainability goals.

With this rollout, Borzo will monitor the performance and reliability of the EVs while collaborating with service providers to maintain high operational standards. The pilot phase of EV 3-wheeler deliveries will begin in Mumbai, with plans to gradually increase the supply of EVs in both Mumbai and Delhi.

The company aims to continue adding 3-wheelers and expand to 4-wheelers, ultimately electrifying 30% of its fleet. Borzo is targeting 1,000 deliveries daily with 3-wheelers, with at least 30% of those being EV deliveries. In addition, electric vehicles would help reduce costs with reduced fuel and maintenance in the long term.

“Recently, Entering the 3-wheeler and truck market was a strategic move driven by the need for versatile and cost-effective delivery solutions in the industry. By integrating 3-wheelers into our operations, we are enhancing our capacity for volumetric deliveries and positioning ourselves as a comprehensive logistics partner. We are taking a significant step forward by adding electric 3-wheelers to our fleet, which aligns with our sustainability goals by reducing carbon emissions and providing eco-friendly urban logistics solutions. The first phase of electric 3-wheelers in Mumbai marks the beginning of a broader vision to expand our fleet with electric vehicles, including 3W and 4W options such as mini trucks and tempo delivery vehicles, to meet the growing demand for cleaner, quieter, and more efficient delivery methods.”
Alina Kisina, CEO of Borzo

In a bid to establish a strong foothold in the market, Borzo will aggressively promote its new 3-wheeler and Truck delivery service offering promo codes ensuring that prices remain low for B2B clients.

Borzo recently began operations of 3-Wheeler, Mini Trucks and Tempo deliveries aiming to onboard 1500 delivery partners for the segment.

In India, Borzo has a fleet of over 60,000 delivery partners who serve the Hyperlocal and SME segments.
