Kazam opens 7-day gateway to Unified Bharat e-Charge

Kazam has launched a free seven-day nationwide integration programme to help eligible Charge Point Operators (CPOs) connect their existing EV charging networks to Unified Bharat e-Charge (UBC) without any upfront integration cost. The initiative is designed to accelerate interoperability across India’s expanding EV charging ecosystem, enabling drivers to access multiple charging networks through compatible applications instead of relying on separate apps for different operators.

The programme leverages Kazam’s Beckn Provider Platform (BPP), allowing CPOs to retain their existing charger management systems, customer applications, and pricing models while integrating with the open network. Operators using Open Charge Point Interface (OCPI)-compatible systems can typically complete integration, testing, and certification within seven days. Participating operators will also receive technical support covering network assessment, protocol enablement, sandbox testing, and transaction validation.

Unified Bharat e-Charge is being developed by the Ministry of Heavy Industries (MHI), BHEL, and NPCI as an interoperable national charging platform. Once connected, EV users will be able to discover charging stations, view real-time availability, compare tariffs, reserve charging slots where available, and make payments across participating charging networks through compatible applications.

Kazam, one of the early technology partners supporting UBC, says the initiative aims to reduce technical and financial barriers for charging operators while expanding charger visibility across India’s growing EV ecosystem. The seven-day onboarding window began on 14 July 2026, giving eligible CPOs an opportunity to join the interoperable charging network without rebuilding their existing infrastructure. The move supports India’s broader objective of creating a unified, accessible, and scalable public charging network to accelerate electric vehicle adoption
