Zelio E-Bikes has inaugurated a new 39,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, marking another step in its expansion across South India. Built with an investment of up to βΉ1 crore, the facility will support electric scooter assembly, storage, logistics, and allied operations. The new plant increases the companyβs total annual manufacturing capacity from 1.8 lakh units to 2.4 lakh units, representing a 33% capacity expansion.
The Coimbatore facility has an installed capacity of 60,000 electric two-wheelers annually, with initial production expected to range between 24,000 and 30,000 units per year before gradually scaling up. It is strategically positioned to cater to key southern markets, including Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and South Maharashtra. The expansion is expected to improve regional supply chain efficiency, reduce delivery timelines, and strengthen Zelioβs dealer network in the region.
With this addition, Zelio now operates manufacturing facilities in Ladwa and Patan (Haryana), Cuttack (Odisha), and Coimbatore (Tamil Nadu), creating a broader production footprint across India. The latest investment aligns with the companyβs growth strategy as demand for affordable electric two-wheelers continues to rise.
The expansion follows a strong financial year for the company. Zelio reported FY2025β26 revenue of βΉ313.68 crore, reflecting an 81.8% year-on-year increase. The company currently has a network of more than 400 dealerships across 25+ states and aims to expand this to over 550 dealerships by FY2026β27, further strengthening its market presence.
The new Coimbatore facility is expected to play a key role in supporting Zelioβs production growth while improving product availability across South India as the electric mobility market continues to expand.
