Revolt Motors has secured a major order from the Bihar Police for the supply of 1,100 electric motorcycles, marking an important development in the adoption of electric two-wheelers for government and institutional transportation in India. The electric motorcycles will be used for police patrolling operations across the state, highlighting the growing role of electric mobility in public-sector services.

The order has been placed for Revolt Motors’ BlazeX electric motorcycle. The company plans to deliver all 1,100 units by November 2026, ahead of the contractual deadline of January 2027. The motorcycles are scheduled to be delivered in Patna.

The development represents a significant step in Revolt Motors’ efforts to expand its institutional business beyond the individual electric motorcycle market. It also reflects increasing interest among government organisations in adopting electric vehicles to improve operational efficiency and reduce dependence on conventional petrol-powered transportation.

The Revolt BlazeX has been selected to support the Bihar Police’s day-to-day patrolling requirements. The electric motorcycle offers a claimed riding range of up to 150 km on a single charge, making it suitable for various urban mobility and operational applications.

One of the key features of the BlazeX is its charging flexibility. The motorcycle can be charged using a standard 10A electrical socket, potentially making charging more convenient at police stations and other designated locations. It also comes with a removable battery, allowing greater flexibility in battery charging and handling.

Additionally, the electric motorcycle features built-in GPS functionality for vehicle tracking and under-seat storage space for carrying its charger. These features are expected to support fleet monitoring, charging management and everyday operational requirements during police patrols.

The adoption of electric motorcycles could also help the Bihar Police manage transportation expenses. Compared with conventional petrol-powered motorcycles, electric two-wheelers generally have lower running and maintenance requirements, potentially offering long-term cost savings for organisations operating large vehicle fleets.

Commenting on the development, Anjali Rattan, Chairperson of RattanIndia Enterprises, described the engagement as an important milestone for Revolt Motors’ institutional mobility business. She highlighted that large-scale deployments would provide the company with an opportunity to demonstrate its electric motorcycles in real-world operating conditions.

The company believes that the Bihar Police order could encourage other government departments, state police forces, defence organisations and public-sector undertakings to explore electric two-wheelers for their transportation requirements.

Institutional adoption can play an important role in accelerating electric vehicle penetration in India. Large fleet orders not only create demand for electric vehicles but also demonstrate their practicality in applications involving regular usage and operational requirements.

Revolt Motors, a wholly owned subsidiary of RattanIndia Enterprises, has established a presence in India’s electric motorcycle segment with a community of more than 60,000 riders and a dealership network of over 182 outlets.

The latest order adds another dimension to the company’s growth strategy as it looks to expand its customer base through government and institutional partnerships.

The Bihar Police deployment also highlights the potential of electric motorcycles beyond personal transportation. With government agencies increasingly exploring cleaner mobility solutions, electric two-wheelers could find wider applications in policing, public administration and other institutional operations.

As India continues its transition towards electric mobility, the deployment of 1,100 Revolt BlazeX motorcycles in Bihar could become an important example of how electric vehicles can support public services while contributing to lower operating costs and reduced dependence on fossil fuels.
