Sudeep Diversifies into Green Iron Phosphate for EV Storage

Vadodara, Gujarat, India – October 1, 2024 – Sudeep Pharma Private Limited (Sudeep Pharma) today announced its strategic expansion into the clean energy storage sector with the launch of its subsidiary, Sudeep Advanced Materials (SAM). This self-funded initiative will focus on the production of Iron Phosphate, a key material used in electric vehicle (EV) energy storage systems. Leveraging its over three decades of experience in green chemistry, Sudeep Pharma aims to contribute to the growing demand for sustainable and efficient energy solutions.

Sudeep Pharma has been a pioneer in the production of Iron Phosphate since 2015 and is currently one of the world’s largest manufacturers of food-grade Iron Phosphate with a capacity of 15,000 metric tons. The company has developed a proprietary green process that significantly reduces water consumption and gas emissions, demonstrating its commitment to environmental sustainability.

SAM will build upon Sudeep Pharma’s expertise and utilize its existing capabilities to manufacture Green Iron Phosphate specifically tailored for EV battery storage applications. By offering a high-quality, sustainably produced Iron Phosphate, SAM aims to support the rapid adoption of electric vehicles and contribute to a cleaner and greener future.

Sudeep Advanced Materials Accelerates Commercialization of Green Battery Materials

Sudeep Advanced Materials (SAM) is rapidly advancing its commercialization efforts for green battery materials. The company has established a Customer Qualification Plant (CQP) to validate product specifications and performance in collaboration with potential customers. This strategic step will strengthen SAM’s position in the market and pave the way for future commercial production.

In addition to the CQP, SAM is developing a 30-acre Commercialization Hub. This state-of-the-art facility is designed to produce 100,000 metric tonnes of pCAMs (Performance Critical Advanced Materials) annually, including Iron Phosphate and Manganese Derivatives. Phase 1 of the Commercialization Hub is expected to commence production by 2026.

SAM leverages the strong foundation of its parent company, Sudeep Pharma. Sudeep Pharma’s established raw material sourcing capabilities, particularly for Phosphoric Acid, provide a reliable and consistent supply for SAM’s manufacturing processes. This strategic advantage ensures that SAM can meet the growing demand for high-quality green battery materials.
