Tirex Chargers Partners with Gujarat Government to Establish Major EV DC Charger Manufacturing Plants in India
Tirex Chargers, a top Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) of Electric Vehicle (EV) chargers, and the Government of Gujarat have agreed to work together for a greener future in India. They signed an agreement on January 6, 2024, right before the big Vibrant Gujarat 2024 event.
They’re teaming up to build one of India’s biggest factories for EV chargers in Ahmedabad. This big step, backed by lots of investment, is going to make electric cars more popular in India and create many jobs.
The agreement was signed at a special event with important people like Mr. Sanskar Patel, Managing Director of Tirex Chargers and Ms. Mona Khandhar IAS, Principal Secretary of Government of Gujarat’s Department of Science and Technology. They plan to make over 10,000 fast chargers each year, which will help more people charge their electric cars quickly.
Since starting in 2016, Tirex Chargers has been leading the way in making powerful DC chargers, sending out nearly 700 chargers all over India. These chargers help run electric buses and cars, adding up to a huge 30,000 kWs of power.
A big moment for Tirex was when Gulf Oil, part of the Hinduja Group, bought a 51% share in the company in October 2023. This partnership is helping Tirex grow even more.
“We are thrilled to formalize our collaboration with the Government of Gujarat to establish India’s one of the largest EV DC Charger manufacturing plants. This initiative aligns seamlessly with our commitment to advancing sustainable mobility solutions. With Gulf Oil Lubricant India’s strategic investment, Tirex is poised for substantial growth, and this manufacturing plant is a testament to our dedication to the electric mobility ecosystem.”
Mr. Arth Patel, CEO of Tirex Chargers.
