The Indian electric vehicle (EV) space is rapidly evolving, with both domestic and international automakers gearing up to launch their latest models. With consumer interest at an all-time high and infrastructure gradually improving, India is witnessing an influx of new electric cars across various segments. Here’s a look at five exciting electric vehicles expected to launch soon.


MG Motor is set to bring the bold and futuristic MG Cyberster to India, following its showcase at the Auto Expo 2025. The two-door electric roadster comes with scissor doors and is built to thrill.

  • Performance: 0–100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds
  • Power Output: 510 bhp and 725 Nm torque

2. Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara – The Most Awaited Indian EV

Maruti Suzuki is entering the EV race with its first electric SUV – the e-Vitara. Displayed at the Auto Expo 2025 in production-ready form, the e-Vitara is already reaching dealerships nationwide ahead of its official launch.

  • Battery Options: 49 kWh and 61 kWh
  • Range: Over 500 km
  • Launch Timeline: First week of September 2025
  • Segment: Mid-size SUV

VinFast, Vietnam’s prominent EV manufacturer, is entering India with the compact SUV – VF6, which made its debut at the Auto Expo 2025. Bookings are already underway, and its launch is expected this August.

  • Variants: Eco and Plus
  • Eco Version: 178 bhp, 250 Nm, 399 km range
  • Plus Version: 204 bhp, 310 Nm, 381 km range
  • Battery: 59.6 kWh
  • Competitors: Hyundai Creta EV, Tata Curvv EV, Mahindra BE 6

Mahindra is gearing up to introduce the XEV 7e, a premium electric SUV that has been recently spotted testing. Positioned between the BE 6 and XEV 9e, this model is based on Mahindra’s modular INGLO skateboard platform.

  • Expected Battery Options: 59 kWh and 79 kWh
  • Estimated Range: Up to 600 km
  • Launch: Coming soon

Another exciting entry from VinFast, the VF7, is set to launch alongside the VF6 this August. Bookings for the VF7 have already started, with the SUV being offered in two powerful variants.

  • Eco Variant: 204 bhp, 310 Nm, 450 km range
  • Plus Variant: 354 bhp, 500 Nm, 431 km range, AWD dual-motor setup
  • Positioning: Larger, more premium sibling to the VF6

With Hyundai launching the Creta Electric, MG bringing the M9 EV, and Mercedes-Benz pushing premium EVs, the Indian market is bracing for an electrified future. And now, Maruti Suzuki’s e-Vitara and Mahindra’s XEV 7e highlight how Indian manufacturers are not far behind.
