ML Star’s Impressive Range and Key Milestone Achieved

The LML Star electric scooter is gearing up for its much-awaited debut, with some exciting performance details now revealed. It promises a range of over 200 km on a single charge — the longest claimed range for any electric scooter in India to date. The Star was first showcased at the 2023 Auto Expo in Greater Noida, generating significant buzz, but its launch was delayed. Now, with all the key certifications in place, it’s all set to hit the Indian roads soon.

LML has recently achieved a major milestone by securing the Central Motor Vehicles Rules (CMVR) certification for the Star. This government-mandated certification confirms that the scooter complies with all safety and quality standards required to manufacture and sell vehicles in India. Yogesh Bhatia, MD and CEO of LML, highlighted the significance of this achievement, saying:

“Securing the CMVR Certificate for the LML Star demonstrates that we meet the highest industry standards in both technology and safety. With its advanced features, premium design, and top-tier performance, the LML Star is set to redefine what electric mobility in India can be.”

What Makes the LML Star Stand Out?

LML has roped in some of the best designers from global automotive giants like Ducati, Ferrari, Yamaha, and Kawasaki to create a scooter that delivers both in terms of performance and aesthetics. Here’s a look at its key specifications and features:

Range and Performance

  • Range: Up to 203 km on a single charge
  • Top Speed: 90 kmph
  • Power Output: Approximately 7.8 bhp

The scooter is expected to come with two removable battery packs, allowing users to swap batteries easily for extended range. This feature can be a significant advantage for long-distance riders.

Design: Futuristic and Feature-Packed

The LML Star has a bold, futuristic design that blends mid-maxi scooter styling with modern tech elements. Some of the standout design features include:

  • Dual-tone black and white body with striking red accents
  • LED DRL (Daytime Running Lights) and projector headlights
  • 14-inch alloy wheels

LML has packed the Star with a host of premium features to enhance the riding experience:

Competition and Market Positioning

Once launched, the LML Star will go head-to-head with popular electric scooters like the Ola S1 Pro, Ather 450X, TVS iQube, and Bajaj Chetak. Given its impressive range, modern design, and advanced features, the Star is expected to carve out a strong position in the growing Indian EV market.

When Will the LML Star Launch?

While LML has not confirmed an exact launch date, the company has assured that the Star will hit the market in 2025. This will mark a significant comeback for LML, which is aiming to establish itself as a serious player in the electric two-wheeler segment.

Our Verdict: A Game-Changer in the EV Space

With its record-breaking range, futuristic design, and cutting-edge features, the LML Star is well-poised to set new benchmarks in the Indian electric scooter market. As LML prepares to launch the first of its three upcoming EVs, all eyes will be on the Star to see if it can live up to the hype and take on established competitors.
