The Core News
Renault Group’s futuREady India strategy marks a structural shift in how the company views the Indian market. Instead of treating India as a peripheral sales geography, the company is now positioning it as a central pillar in its global value chain, covering engineering, manufacturing, and exports.
At the product level, Renault is entering its largest-ever product renewal cycle in India, targeting a portfolio of seven vehicles by 2030. These will span internal combustion, hybrid, and electric powertrains, all built on two flexible architectures, RGEP and RGMP, designed to support multi-energy configurations.
On the industrial side, Renault has consolidated full ownership of its Chennai manufacturing facility and is scaling its engineering base of around 6,000 specialists. The broader objective is clear: transform India into a technology development centre and export hub, with annual exports of vehicles, components, and R&D services projected to reach €2 billion by the end of the decade.

Way Forward ….
The Renault futuREady India strategy signals a deeper long-term commitment to India, not just as a consumption market but as a production and innovation backbone. The execution, however, will hinge on how quickly Renault can localise EV technologies, scale supplier ecosystems, and compete in India’s increasingly price-sensitive yet tech-driven market. If delivered effectively, this strategy could reposition Renault from a marginal player to a relevant EV-era contender in India and beyond.
