Roadgrid × VinFast: 120 V-Points to Super-Charge India’s EV Map

India sold just over 2 million electric vehicles in calendar-year 2024, yet had only ≈29,300 public/semi-Public chargers on the ground by May 2025—an uneasy ratio of roughly 70 EVs per plug. Into that gap steps Roadgrid India, the Indore-born specialist in universal, OCPP-compliant fast-charging tech, and VinFast, Vietnam’s break-out OEM investing US $500 million in a Tamil Nadu plant slated to push out 150 k cars a year.

To dig deeper into what their 120 planned “V-Points” really mean for Indian drivers, All India EV reached out to Mr. Chandrapraksh, Chief Operating Officer of Roadgrid. Below is our full conversation.

1. Roadgrid India has been making significant strides in India’s EV‑charging ecosystem. What was the vision behind partnering with VinFast, and how do you see this collaboration shaping the EV servicing and charging landscape in India?

VinFast and Roadgrid share a simple, powerful objective: make electric mobility effortless at scale. Teaming up with a global OEM like VinFast allows us to couple their world‑class vehicle technology with our nationwide, tech‑driven service and charging network. Together we can—

  • Scale faster. VinFast’s manufacturing muscle and Roadgrid’s on‑ground footprint let us roll out reliable charging and service touchpoints in months, not years.
  • Boost confidence. A visible, well‑maintained network gives drivers the assurance to plan cross‑country trips and fleet operators the courage to electrify quicker.
  • Elevate standards. Working with a global partner raises the bar on safety, software integration and customer experience for the entire Indian market.
  • Create opportunity. Every new V‑Point becomes a revenue stream for premium multi‑brand workshops that join our platform.

In short, this partnership is not just about plugs and cables; it’s about building the confidence and convenience that will unlock mass EV adoption across India.

2. The announcement mentions the creation of 120 “V‑Points” across India. Can you elaborate on the specific technologies and services these V‑Points will offer to EV users?

Each V‑Point is a holistic VinFast experience centre designed around the four V‑Pillars:

  1. Valued – Every customer is treated like a VIP.
  2. Vantage – Every visit adds clear value, from rapid charging to transparent billing.
  3. Velocity – Every service job is completed with speed and precision.
  4. Vista – Every journey opens a wider horizon for cleaner mobility.

Under the hood, every V‑Point delivers:

  • Fast‑charge stacks (up to 350 kW) plus universal CCS2 and Type‑2 connectors.
  • Smart‑charging software that integrates load balancing, remote diagnostics and OTA updates.
  • Full EV service bays equipped for both high‑ and low‑voltage repairs, along with VINFast‑approved diagnostic tools.
  • On‑site spare‑parts depots to minimise turnaround time.
  • Premium car‑care zones for detailing and cosmetic repairs, staffed by VinFast‑trained technicians.

3. From Roadgrid’s perspective, what were the key challenges and opportunities in aligning with a global player like VinFast for such a large‑scale deployment?

  • Global standards, local reality. We had to marry VinFast’s rigorous European and ASEAN benchmarks with the practical nuances of Indian roads, climates and grid conditions.
  • Workforce upskilling. Training technicians nationwide on high‑voltage safety and VinFast‑specific diagnostics was a massive but rewarding lift.
  • Supply‑chain orchestration. Syncing spare parts, chargers and software roll‑outs across multiple time zones demanded a robust digital backbone.

The payoff is equally large: technology transfer, brand elevation, and a head start in what is poised to become the world’s third‑largest EV market.

4. How does this partnership align with Roadgrid’s long‑term strategy for building a robust and user‑friendly EV infrastructure in India? Are there plans to scale beyond the initial 120 V‑Points?

Absolutely. The 120 V‑Points are the first innings in a long game. As VinFast brings additional vehicle lines and even GSM electric taxi services to India, we will densify the network and convert high‑performing multi‑brand workshops into exclusive VinFast dealerships where it makes strategic sense. Our roadmap anticipates multiple expansion waves synced with market demand and vehicle volume.

5. With the Indian EV market rapidly evolving, what innovations or unique solutions can we expect from Roadgrid in collaboration with VinFast to cater to both urban and semi‑urban EV users?

Look out for our containerised “Charge‑&‑Care” hubs—modular units that combine ultra‑fast charging with premium service bays, a customer lounge, kids’ play area and public conveniences. These plug‑and‑play hubs can be dropped into mall carparks, highway rest stops or Tier‑2 city plots, bringing urban‑grade service quality to semi‑urban corridors almost overnight.

Each hub is a one‑stop shop: charge, service, relax and learn about the latest in sustainable mobility—all under one roof.

Closing view – A bar the rest of the ecosystem must clear

India’s EV dream will stall if electrons dry up the minute you exit a metro. By fusing VinFast’s scale with Roadgrid’s software-first DNA, this alliance tackles that confidence gap head-on, setting a new baseline for uptime, power levels and service transparency.

Our challenge—as industry watchdogs—to every OEM, CPO, utility and regulator: match, or better yet exceed, these standards. The next million Indian EV drivers will demand nothing less than charge, chai and chill in one seamless stop.
