New Delhi: In a major boost to India’s electric mobility push, Tata Motors announced it has crossed the milestone of 25,000 public charging stations for its electric small commercial vehicles (SCVs). The chargers are now accessible across 150 cities, including Delhi-NCR, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Chennai, and Hyderabad, the company said on Monday.

Confidence for Last-Mile Operators

According to Tata Motors, the growing charging network will enhance range access and operational efficiency for last-mile cargo operators, boosting confidence in EV adoption.
“Crossing the 25,000 public charging station mark is a pivotal milestone in our commitment to advancing electric cargo mobility,” said Pinaki Haldar, Vice-President & Business Head – SCVPU, Tata Motors Commercial Vehicles.

25,000 More Chargers in the Pipeline

To further accelerate expansion, Tata Motors has signed MoUs with 13 charging point operators, including Charge Zone, Kazam, Volttic, Zeon Electric, among others. The agreements aim to add another 25,000 chargers over the next 12 months. These stations will be integrated with Fleet Edge, Tata Motors’ connected vehicle platform, enabling real-time navigation and charger availability for drivers.

EV Lineup and Service Support

Tata Motors’ electric SCV lineup includes the Ace Pro EV, Ace EV, and Ace EV 1000, developed to meet urban and semi-urban cargo needs. To support customers, the company has also set up over 200 dedicated EV support centres across India.

Market Leadership

Part of the $180 billion Tata Group, Tata Motors is India’s largest commercial vehicle manufacturer and among the top three passenger vehicle players. With its expanding charging infrastructure and e-SCV portfolio, the company continues to strengthen its leadership in the country’s fast-growing electric mobility segment.
