Tata Motors Unveils New Manufacturing Hub in Tamil Nadu

Panapakkam, Tamil Nadu, India – In a major boost to the country’s automotive industry, Tata Motors Group today broke ground on a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Panapakkam, Ranipet district, Tamil Nadu. The new plant will produce next-generation cars and SUVs for both Tata Motors and its luxury subsidiary, Jaguar Land Rover.

The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Thiru M.K. Stalin, Tata Sons Chairman N. Chandrasekaran, and other high-ranking government officials and Tata Group executives. Speaking at the event, Chief Minister Stalin praised Tata Group’s long-standing commitment to Tamil Nadu and welcomed the company’s significant new investment.

 “Tata Group has a deep-rooted connection with Tamil Nadu. We are proud to host this world-class facility that will contribute to the state’s industrial growth.”

Tata Motors’ Panapakkam Plant to Focus on Electric and Luxury Vehicles

N. Chandrasekaran, Chairman of Tata Sons, further highlighted the strategic importance of the Panapakkam plant, emphasizing the region’s strong automotive ecosystem.

“This facility will be a hub for producing electric and luxury vehicles, showcasing our commitment to cutting-edge technology and sustainability,”

Chandrasekaran also underscored Tata Motors’ dedication to diversity and inclusion, announcing plans to employ a significant number of women at all levels of the plant’s operations. This initiative aligns with the company’s broader efforts to promote gender equality and empower women in the workplace.

Tata Motors’ Panapakkam Plant to Drive Economic Growth and Sustainability

Tata Motors’ new manufacturing facility in Panapakkam will be a major economic driver for the region, with an estimated investment of ₹9,000 crore. The plant is expected to reach full capacity within 5 to 7 years, producing over 250,000 vehicles annually. This expansion will create more than 5,000 direct and indirect jobs, contributing significantly to the local economy.

The establishment of the Panapakkam plant further solidifies Tamil Nadu’s status as a key player in India’s automotive industry. This investment aligns with the country’s “Make in India, For the World” vision, promoting domestic manufacturing and exports.
