Zeta Energy and Log9 Materials Partner to Drive Innovation in Advanced Battery Systems
Zeta Energy Corp., a global leader in lithium-sulfur (Li-S) battery technology, and Log9 Materials, a prominent innovator in battery cell technology and the EV Mobility Ecosystem, have announced a strategic partnership today.
Zeta Energy is at the forefront of lithium-sulfur battery development, utilizing sulfurized carbon materials to harness sulfur’s high energy density while mitigating the “polysulfide shuttle” effect. Sulfur, known for its superior energy density compared to traditional lithium-ion materials, is both affordable and abundantly available, which contrasts sharply with the scarce and expensive materials typically used in batteries.
Zeta’s battery cells are free from cobalt, manganese, nickel, and graphite, which simplifies the supply chain and reduces risk in battery and energy storage system production. Furthermore, lithium-sulfur batteries from Zeta boast the lowest CO2 footprint among lithium-based options and offer enhanced safety against thermal runaway.
Log9, a trailblazer in materials science and energy solutions based in India, has earned accolades for its innovative clean energy technologies suitable for both transport and stationary storage applications. It established India’s first commercial lithium-ion cell manufacturing hub, pushing forward the development of rapid-charging and durable battery solutions tailored to commercial vehicles.
This initiative is particularly significant given India’s reliance on entirely imported lithium-ion cells for EVs, highlighting a critical push towards self-reliance in battery production to support its growing electric mobility sector.
The collaboration between Zeta Energy and Log9 is poised to deliver substantial advancements. Zeta’s pioneering Li-S materials could significantly enhance cell efficiency in Log9’s battery packs and modules, facilitating the creation of superior energy storage systems with increased range, stability, and cost-effectiveness.
Additionally, Log9’s expertise in battery system integration will enable the practical application and validation of Zeta’s cutting-edge materials. Both firms expect this partnership to generate valuable insights into optimizing lithium-sulfur batteries for diverse applications.
“Our goal is to introduce faster charging, more affordable, and sustainable battery solutions to the Indian market and beyond. Leveraging Zeta Energy’s lithium-sulfur technology will accelerate our efforts.”
Pankaj Sharma, Co-Founder of Log9, commented.
Tom Pilette, CEO of Zeta Energy, concurred, “This partnership is highly synergistic. Log9’s track record of pioneering battery technologies complements our innovations, together aiming to revolutionize energy storage across various sectors.”
Tom Pilette, CEO of Zeta Energy, concurred.
The partnership will officially launch at Log9’s annual Day Zero event on April 21.
