India’s EV Charging Market Moves Towards Connected Networks and Fleet Access
Tuesday, 13 October 2026 | Weekly review: 5–11 October

ration uses the Open Charge Point Interface—OCPI—protocol. Users can locate participating stations, check real-time availability, authorise charging sessions and manage payments through a connected platform. The announcement integrates access to existing infrastructure; it does not represent 120 newly commissioned chargers.

For commercial operators, charging access becomes valuable when it fits the working route. A nearby charger still needs suitable vehicle access, compatible equipment and enough available capacity within the fleet’s operating window.

The All India EV view: this partnership brings charging into the vehicle ownership and operating experience. Its practical impact will depend on how well participating locations match Montra users’ routes and charging requirements.

On 9 October, Jio-bp and Vertelo announced an MoU to explore integrated solutions for electric buses and trucks.

The proposed collaboration brings together Vertelo’s leasing capabilities and Jio-bp’s fast-charging network. Areas under consideration include charger discovery, preferential charging tariffs, and turnkey charging infrastructure across identified cities and highway corridors.

This remains an exploratory agreement. The announcement did not disclose committed deployment numbers or a completed rollout.

For fleets evaluating electrification, vehicle financing and charging access are closely connected decisions. Lease payments must work alongside electricity costs, charging time and the kilometres a vehicle can reliably complete.

The All India EV view: the partnership addresses an important coordination challenge. The details to watch are route coverage, tariff terms, infrastructure responsibilities and the service commitments offered to fleet customers.

An 8 October report described plans for 10 EV charging stations in Greater Noida West, including locations along the 130-metre road and near Sirsa Truckers Point.

Locations are being identified, with at least two charging points proposed at each station. The report places these facilities within a broader programme of 39 approved stations across the district under PM E-DRIVE.

These are planning milestones. Their eventual value will depend on site access, electricity connections, equipment selection and operating arrangements.

The All India EV view: the next meaningful update is how many proposed locations progress to commissioning and begin serving vehicles.

RRECL’s revised schedule for its PM E-DRIVE public charging tender set online bid submission for 6 October, followed by hard-copy submission and technical bid opening on 7 October.

The tender covers design, installation, commissioning, and operation and maintenance at Category A and B locations. The published schedule establishes planned procurement milestones; it does not confirm an award or completed technical opening.

The All India EV view: including O&M keeps service delivery within the procurement scope. Awards, execution timelines and operating performance will determine how this pipeline becomes usable infrastructure.

Last week’s announcements point towards a more connected charging market: software platforms linking networks, vehicle manufacturers integrating charging access, and leasing providers exploring energy solutions for fleets.

For the industry, three questions now deserve attention:

  • Access: can users discover and use suitable chargers across networks?
  • Operations: does charging fit the vehicle’s route, schedule and cost structure?
  • Execution: how quickly do planned and tendered sites begin delivering dependable service?

Those outcomes will show how much these developments improve India’s EV charging experience.

That’s Tuesday’s charging market review on All India EV’s The 9AM Show.
