LML Secures Design Patent for Star Electric Scooter

LML, a beloved Indian brand from the 90s and early 2000s, has made a triumphant comeback. After reintroducing themselves with the Star electric scooter concept in 2022, LML has solidified their commitment to the EV market by securing a design patent for their innovative scooter. This significant milestone marks a new era for the brand, positioning them as a key player in the rapidly growing electric vehicle industry.

LML Partners with SEAPL to Reimagine the Star

The company, a nostalgic brand from the 90s, has resurrected their iconic Star scooter. Originally produced from 1997 to 2017, the Star has been reborn as an electric scooter in partnership with Saera Electric Auto Private Limited (SEAPL).

Designed in collaboration with Italian designers renowned for their work with Ducati, Ferrari, Yamaha, and Kawasaki, the new Star boasts a maxi scooter design with striking red accents and a modern headlamp. While the scooter’s performance and features remain to be seen, its iconic name and stylish design could make it a formidable competitor in the competitive EV market.

LML Star: A Study on Performance

While specific performance details of the LML Star EV remain under wraps, its design offers some clues about its capabilities. The scooter’s mid-mounted motor suggests a balanced power delivery and potentially improved handling. The belt drive system is known for its quiet operation, reduced maintenance, and efficient power transfer compared to chains.

The suspension system features a telescopic fork up front, providing good comfort and handling, especially on uneven surfaces. At the rear, a side-mounted monoshock suspension offers a balance of comfort and performance, absorbing bumps and providing stability.

In terms of braking, the LML Star EV is equipped with disc brakes on both front and rear wheels, ensuring powerful and responsive stopping power. Based on these design elements, we can expect the LML Star EV to offer a blend of performance, comfort, and modern features. However, for a definitive assessment of its performance, we’ll need to wait for official specifications and test rides.
