Bajaj Unveils Chetak 2901: New Entry in Electric Scooter Series

Bajaj has just introduced its latest addition to the Chetak electric scooter lineup, the Chetak 2901. Priced starting at Rs 95,998 (ex-showroom, Bangalore), these scooters are now available for booking across 500 Chetak showrooms nationwide or through Bajaj’s official website. Deliveries are scheduled to begin on June 15.

The Chetak 2901, positioned as the entry-level model, sits just below the Chetak Urbane in Bajaj’s electric scooter range. It maintains a similar design to its higher-end counterparts and is offered in five striking colors including Red, White, Black, Lime Yellow, and Azure Blue.

During the launch event, Eric Vas, President of Urbanite at Bajaj Auto Ltd., conveyed his enthusiasm about the new model.

“We are thrilled to begin shipments of the Chetak 2901 to our dealerships. The Chetak 2901 is designed, specified, and priced to attract customers who currently use petrol scooters, offering a full-size metal body electric scooter that competes with and exceeds petrol scooters without straining their budget.”

The Chetak 2901 features a smaller 1.8kWh battery, which delivers an impressive range of 123 km (as per ARAI) on a single charge and a top speed of 63 kmph. For comparison, the Chetak Urbane is equipped with a larger 2.9kWh battery, offering a range of 113 km and a top speed of 73 kmph.

On the technology front, the Chetak 2901 comes with a colorful digital console, alloy wheels, and Bluetooth connectivity. For those looking for additional features, an optional TecPac upgrade is available. This upgrade includes advanced functionalities such as hill hold, reverse, sport and economy modes, call and music control, follow-me-home lights, and enhanced Bluetooth app connectivity.

Bajaj’s strategic pricing and feature-rich offering aim to attract customers transitioning from petrol scooters to electric, providing an eco-friendly and cost-effective alternative without compromising on style and performance. The Chetak 2901 is set to make waves in the electric scooter market, offering a blend of innovation, aesthetics, and practicality.
